Still a mess...

Well, there it is. I don't think there's anybody here who won't be holding their breath if Rodgers gets tackled on that shoulder.

That said, if this is the way it's going to be, then game on!

The point was that Doctors are human.
Very human. They often make mistakes and are too often put on a pedestal.

Ah.. gotcha now. Point taken.

Can always be concerned about players, but I'm not sure what is the absolute worst thing that can happen shoulder wise with a re-break to be overly worried about him as a player going out there. If there is some worst case shoulder re-break info, love to see it.

It makes Rodgers' injury this year that much more disappointing. There was a window of opportunity.

While it's a pretty small one there's still a chance the Packers make it to the playoffs with Rodgers being cleared. Once they're in anything can happen in the postseason.

Which of course, if by a longshot the Packers would make it to the Super Bowl and win, the 'Ya but.. ' perfectionists will crawl out of the woodwork.

Ya but.. they didn't face Wentz.
Ya but.. they barely beat Cleveland and shouldn't have made the playoffs
Ya but.. <insert some other perceived item to complain about>

Sad existence to only allow yourself to be happy about a win unless every checkbox of 'perfection' ticked off.

I wouldn't care about any of that if the Packers end up winning the Super Bowl.

That will be moot, given that the Packers would likely have to defeat the Patriots or Steelers to win the whole thing. Those two teams have legitimate hall of fame quarterbacks with championship pedigrees.

When people look back, they remember who the champions are. Not who they defeated in route to getting there. You hear very little about what all it took for the Packers to qualify for the playoffs in 2010. All you hear is that the Packers won SB45.

Hell if we dissected all of the sorry teams the Patriots have beaten in the playoffs every year, not to mention playing in the sorry AFC East, it would raise some eyebrows. But no one talks about those things.

Probably a job for WIMM, and it wouldn't be definitive because of subjective evaluation, but who DID the Pats beat on their way to their five Brady/Belichick SBs, and how good/bad were those teams at the time? Also, how did the AFC East do against the rest of the league in those years, versus how the NFC North did? Finally, what more can a team do than beat the opponents presented to them? Certainly on board with the thesis that it's the final destination that's remembered, not the journey.

In my opinion it's impossible to evaluate if the Patriots have had an easier path to winning the Super Bowl by playing in the AFC East. It's worth mentioning that their record of 51-13 (.797) vs. NFC opponents since the league introduced the current division alignment in 2002 indicates they would have been dominant playing in the NFC as well though.

Since apparently we’re describing each other now, you are pessimistic with a bad attitude. I think we need a “pessimist” button for your posts.
Thank you for your thoughtful contribution.

There's always hope. Like I said before, "game on". Hope is not something to take to the bank or gush on about. A mature circumspection would seem to be in order under the current circumstances, particularly give the defensive performance.

Control the ball, protect the ball, control the clock, get some turnovers, keep the other guys' offense off the field. Then maybe the Packers live to play another day.
