Powarun has it right.

If you start accepting 'good enough' - you are in trouble. Packers are what, 8-1 odds for the Superbowl next season? If we were 1-8 I would feel more comfortable not doing anything. But there is too much going on in the NFL and there is every reason to find every advantage you possibly can. Losing the special teams battle almost every week is a big disadvantage.

From everything I know about TT and MM, they won't let success be an excuse to not improve.

Thank you AmishMafia,

I remember reading that when Lambeau won his first Championship, he deconstucted the team, kept the inner nucleous that won them most of their games and cut the rest. EVERYONE called him crazy and the next year we won our second championship. I am with everyone that held their breath or thought OMG its great that he didn't run the ball into Packer territory. We need the Packers to dominate on all sides of the field.

If you want we can associate our ST in 4 MAJOR losses this season.
Patriots
Falcons

Whoever is making the call and saying "we need to squibb kick more often" needs to be FIRED

other than that, our kick coverage/punt coverage is just terrible terrible terrible, someone with a good sense of teaching Special Teams needs to be brought in. I still think Mason Crosby has got to go, Tim Masthay needs to get a nice big juicy 7 year contract though, he single handedly made our special teams look half way decent.

also, we MUST use a 3rd 4th or 5th round draft pick on a Kick/Punt Return SPECIALIST not a crappy CB who can also return, or a second rate WR who has return skills, someone like Hester who ONLY RETURNS KICKs and play's on the coverage unit. I think if we had an Above Average Return guy we would go undefeated, imagine Aaron Rodgers constantly getting short field.

I personally don't have a problem with the kickers per se. But I have a huge problem with the rest of the units.
If there was one thing this season that's given me headaches it's ST. Every single time I see Incubes12's sig it reminds me of how good other teams have it.
I go for a smoke when we're receiving and have to hold my breath when we kick. It shouldn't be this way. Figure the STs are made up of players who don't ordinarily see the field, but ours did. They came through in offense and defense right? If they can man up on first team D and O then one can only surmise that coaching on STs is the problem.
I don't know who's available as a ST coach out there but I would rather have almost anybody, you can't get much worse than this.

Bringing this thread back up to the top.

I just got done re watching the Super Bowl :)happy0005: Yay Packers!:happy0005:)

It pretty hard to complain when your team wins the Super Bowl.
Brett Swain pissed me off as a WR but made some nice tackles on ST's
Nelson dropped a few, but made up for it (double) for what he didnt drop and got some wicked YAK in the 4th!
James Jones dropped a sure TD and the ball couldnt have been thrown better.

The one constant failure all year has once again been ST and more specifically Sean Slocum! The Packers won in spite of this turd! The main thing that has made his incompetence less obvious is Tim Masthay punting.

PLEASE PLEASE FIRE THIS TURD!

I think a returner should be the #1 priority in the draft. Later round returners have not panned out for GB. Hester was a 2nd round pick.

I'm sure Slocum is a nice fellow, and I wish him the best in his life. But he's not getting the job done in Green Bay and he deserves a chance to continue coaching somewhere else.
