The problem that I run into is that cheering for either team (wether Favre is there or not) makes me ill. Born to dislike the Vikings and the Cowboys. That is a trait that was burned into me from birth.

Viking fans make it hard to cheer for favre.

Explain: What is it about Vikings fans that makes it so hard? I have met many Vikings and Packers fans, and they seem to be about the same to me. What makes em different, cause I don't see it. They both are avid about their teams. They both go ice fishing. They both love lakes and hunting, casinos, beer, cheese, etc.

Here is a difference. Viking fans are more than willing to root for a player that kicked their ***** for 16 years. Had Randy Moss joined the Packers those couple times he was available, you can bet I wouldn't have been satisfied with any success we experienced that would be be attributed to him. I don't know how you guys can live with yourselves

I don't care who he played for or how many times he kicked our *** in the past. That's just more reason to go get him and see if he can win for us. Football is big business. In the business world, if a CEO is kicking *** for your competition, the logical step is to go out and get him.

Sure, that's one way to do it. But it's not as satisfying or respected as creating your own success. There is a reason people hate the Yankees, and it's not just because they win. They let everyone else do the work for them, scouting, drafting, and training good players. Then they step in and collect.

Try drafting your own quarterback. You'll appreciate a season like this alot more.

The Falcons drafted Favre. Just thought I would point that out.

Who cares how you get there as long as you get there. Teams that win it all don't get a special trophy because they did it with "their" guys. When Boston won the NBA finals 2 years ago with guys they brought in via trade, I didn't care that they traded for the talent. I would want my GM to be smart enough to recognize a need and fill it.

These sour grapes are just too much.

A little more history. Favre was drafted in the 2nd round by the Falcons. The Packers could have drafted him in the second round. Instead they drafted Vinnie Clark. Not sure Favre was even on their radar at the time.

Not sure why this got into a war between why or why someone doesn't like fans or other teams or whatever. . .

This thread is for PACKER fans to voice whether or not they're going to cheer on Favre or hope for the vikings to get knocked out of the playoffs by the cowboys and then hope the cowboys lose the next week.

Enough of the fanboys for Minnesota or Dallas to be honest, I respect that you support your team of choice but this is not the place to voice your thoughts on why you support them or argue with the Packer fans.

Obviously you're going to get people saying they can't stand Minne or Dallas, it is an odd predicament in my opinion and the game has to be won by someone and I'm simply asking other Packer fans their thoughts on the game this coming weekend.

I think I'll very quietly cheer for the team from Minnesota, then hope they lose to either the Saints or Cardinals. I can't stand the cowboys. I find all that coverage they get to be very ridiculous. And being from Texas just makes it worse. Every time I hear that stupid line "How bout them blah blah blah," I get sooo annoyed!! :mad2:

Seeing BF in purple was, and still is, very hard to take, like many of you. But even if he's with a team from our division, there's no way I'm cheering for the cowboys. I don't think there's an NFL team I despise more than them.

I understand why many of you will root for Dallas, but I honestly can't lol..

I can see where you're coming from, I've grown into the hatred towards the vikings and cowboys and understand where you're coming from. It's just harder for me to see BF in Minne than Dallas to win a playoff game. . .either way we can all agree we dont want to see either in the Super Bowl.

The Saints have no chance. They've been exposed. It'll either be Arizona at Minnesota or Dallas. It all depends on whether the Minnesota O-line decides to run-block this Sunday.

The only two teams I see myself cheering for from the rest of the field are the Saints, and next the Colts. Although my gut, as sickening as it is, tells me the Cowboys are going to win the SB. There should Really be a Cowboys SUX smilie here. Obviously the Queens/Girls game will be the one to watch this weekend. I'm interested in seeing if Satan or the Taliban comes out on top.

Their run game should be fine. If dallas tries to lock down Rice and Bernard, it will open up the run game and AP will break out.

The viks should be able to shut down Dallas' run game which will put the pressure on Romo. They have a great run d and that should make the Dallas o one dimensional. I believe if Dallas is to win, Romo will have to do it on his own.

Remember when McKinnie had a lot of trouble with Julius Peppers? Now imagine a guy like Peppers, who is younger and imo more explosive and you got Demarcus Ware. Will be an interesting match-up.

I think I'll probably cheer on the Saints, just because Brees seems like a decent enough guy, and they put on a good game.

I recall most of the experts picking the Packers to win against Arizona ...

- Hmmmmm how did that go ?

Again we see the same "trend" ... Everyone picking the Cowboys, yet totally disregarding that Minnesota hasn't been beaten at home (yet) ...

- Anyone who has seen any of Minnesota's home game this season should know that picking against the Vikings when they are playing at home is a very unsafe bet (at best) ...

However, I do agree that this game looks like it will be a very close one ... But then I recall the Bengals game, where alot of experts said that the Bengals would have a great chance of beating the Vikings ... - But ended up getting stomped and locked down very early ...

Match-Up wise I believe that the two teams actually match up very closer than alot of people are predicting ... But I don't see a "shoot-out" happening though ...

But in the end I think the Vikings will come out on top ... I have a feeling that Dallas just might be too overconfident and underestimating the Vikings, perhaps starting to buy in to all the hype about them being "America's Team" (again ?) (something I NEVER understood ...)

Well it's not so much on what the analysis or numbers show here really, it's more or less what Packer fans would like to see or what they are hoping for when they go head to head.

You bring up very good points nonetheless.

As much as I think the word "momentum'' is just a myth regarding sports (which involve so many factors that can stop or propel this so called ''momentum''), I think Dallas is the hottest team in the NFL right now. Yea, even more so than the Chargers.
