    Snow falls in Tomahawk

    Wausau Daily Herald

TOMAHAWK — Visitors and residents in this Northwoods city got a surprise this afternoon just in time for this year’s Fall Ride. The stunner: snow.

With temperatures hovering at 45 degrees and intermittent showers, conditions seemed right for the wintry weather.

Nancy Swan, co-owner of Erv’s Sales & Service on North Fourth Street, didn’t seem surprised when the white stuff momentarily came down at about 1 p.m. today.

“It was doing that all morning,” she said.

National Weather Service in Green Bay said more typical late-summer weather is in store for the rest of the weekend. Though tonight will be partly cloudy with a low around 31 degrees.

The sun is expected to reappear Saturday and temperatures should reach about 60 degrees. The evening will be partly cloudy with a low around 38 degrees.

Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high near 69 degrees. The evening will be partly cloudy with a low around 48 degrees.

We do get snow here in the UK but nowhere near as much a you get in wisconsin.

The further north you go i.s scotland the more snow you get.

I live just above Wales on the wirral peninsular. We get snow falls at most a couple of times a year and most of it has melted in 2 days.

This summer has been the worst in living memory in the UK for rain. The central parts of England were devastated by floods.

I moved to South Carolina from Wisconsin 6 years ago. Since then, We have had snow once and 2 ice storms. That is probably what I miss the most.
