I don't know how to really bring this up. I was gonna mention about my past growing up and why this is important, but then I thought if you didn't grow up the same way it'd be pointless. Those who did grow up sub middle class will understand.

Stephon Marbury is a NBA Basketball player who is offering a (marketed as) quality sneaker for under $15. It's called the Starbury One.

It's really not a HUGE thing here. It's jus a shoe. But its giving the kids a chance to have the shoe of someone they idolize without breaking their parents pocket book.

Stephon Mabury will be wearing this shoe the entire season to prove its durability and worth.

    To me. That's special.

IT'S ABOUT TIME!!! Maybe this will stop kids from killing each other for shoes.
Me, i wait till i can find a good deal. I got a pair of closeout "Nikes" that were normally $65 for $17. Just have to look to find the best deals.
I wore them out in a year. So, the "fancy" shoes don't last much longer then the cheap ones. It's all hype.

Really? For me it was a huge difference. My Nikes lasted me four years and my cheap shoes lasted me two months on a good pair. Nikes for me always lasted way longer than Jordaches an crap! lol

I have one pair of cheap shoes thats lasted more than six months. I barely wear them.

I went to Steve and Barry's University Sportswear to get some t-shirts (everything is 8 dollars there) and the Starburys were 100% sold out. Some kid walked into the shoe section and saw all the empty shelves and had this awful look on his face.

But as cool as this is, I still hate Marbury and his absolute joke of a team.

Well........now that i think of it, maybe i'm not being fair. I DID wear out the Nike's in a year. But i DID walk over 400 miles in that time. So i probably put in 4 years of "normal" wear in a one year period. Maybe cheapos would have wore out alot faster.

We'll find out soon enough. He plans on wearing these in the NBA games. I can see it now.....every timeout he'll be replacing those things!

    lol

I dunno. I wanna buy a pair for the simple reason to support the idea in hopes that other 'Stars' demand their shoes be priced cheaper.

Hey...I agree. I still don't trust Marbury......the cynic in me says this is some kind of publicity stunt.
