The defense was better with a subpar Matthews at ILB than it would have been with a different, bad ILB. You seem to believe that what McCarthy said about Matthews playing outside is set in stone. I guarantee that if the ILBs don't develop or aren't added then Matthews will be right back inside again this year.The defense wanted to get the best players on the field. It's simple.</blockquote>
