Yeah they don't test servers for those trom so we are good ;)

I installed a new firewall last night and it seemed much faster to me today, but I wanted to see what other people thought.

Could have been a lot of people online in my neighborhood or a server hickup (I will have to check the logs on that one). Even though I am serving the site on a business grade connection, since I am in a residential area I still can have a slight impact when there are a lot of people surfing the web around my house.

Are you saying an admin/mod removed it? Was it against a site rule?

I don't think he meant that, rather his pic isn't coming up now.

    Perhaps a bad URL cali?

I don't know if it was against any rule, but it changes into a jpeg from a gif. No big deal, but am curious as to how it would change.

I'd have to see the image to let you know. If it was animated that's not a problem, it probably had to do with size or content.

It performs better with FF than IE (especially IE 7, that's horrible) but I can't get a realistic test when I am at home, since the site is on my LAN - it's always fast there :p Seems to be working well from work (slight increase in speed I think).

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I appreciate it!

Even with it being at your home, it has to be routed somewhere else before coming back to your set setup, I think.

Like if I were to send a img to my roomate in the other room it gets sent to Chicago and other places before it goes back.

I don't think it goes straight from the server box to your desktop box, but I don't know how you have it set up so I could be completely wrong.

It is all on my private network, I host this site on a server in my basement. I have an internal DNS server that resolves the FQDN A/Host record of packerforum.com to the internal IP of the server (along with the CNAME/Alias record of www.packerforum.com and numerous other sites I host). It's very much internal to my home. Put it this way, I can disconnect my cable modem and be the only person surfing packerforum while everyone else in the world gets a 404 trying to get to the page ;).

As for seing an image to your room mate, depends what you are sending it through, ISP email, IM service, yes. If I were to do that, since I host my own email server, it would never leave me house...

Lets rememeber what I do for a living ;)
