The Vikings have been waiting all season for the return of receiver Sidney Rice. They might be waiting forever.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that it’s uncertain if Rice will play Sunday against the Packers, and if he doesn’t play and the Vikings lose, he might just shut it down for the season.

The Vikings have one more week to activate Rice from the physically unable to perform list or decide hold him out for the year. If the Vikings fall to 3-7 and four games behind the Packers, it might not make much sense to bring Rice back just so he can play out the string on a team that isn’t going anywhere.

Rice had hip surgery in August and started practicing two weeks ago. His hip has still been sore, and the Vikings apparently aren’t going to rush him back. With Rice becoming a free agent after the season, he could be done in Minnesota.

I bet he doesn't play another down for Minny. Why would he, they probably consider the season pretty much over with anyway. At the end of the year, he's a free agent, he could go anywhere, even Green Bay. I would love the irony of that!
