He had been above-average before the deal, which made it a smart extension if he had continued to improve. Unfortunately, Burnett had a terrible year this year and the deal looks horrible - as of now. So, technically, he is overpaid right now. But, if you truly consider the context, I don't think TT was wrong in signing the deal at the time. In contrast, the deal for Jones never really made sense from the get-go. So ripping TT for overpaying for him can be better justified then.</p></blockquote><p></p>
