Because he isn`t a Pro, or claim to be. We have an American journalist on TV who is a British political expert. Does it mean they aren`t really knowledgable because they aren`t British
none of them are experts LOL. I don't trust a blowhard on TV to tell me anything about another country.

anyway, what about this made up rumor do you believe was gained thru insight and personal relationships in the NFL? Because this is EXACTLY the type of "rumor" one would have to have personal insight and relationships with those closest to the situation to know absolutely anything at all to make such a claim or they are doing nothing but making **** up period. Probably from a bar stool from the sounds of it.

There are people who have relationships built with people in other countries that can offer some insight, why does this guy have any? Someone give me something to make me think this anymore than the garbage it likely is?

No, it doesn't matter than he's apparently Danish, I don't even know, because it would, make no difference if he was right here in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Unless he has some special connections with the inner workings, it's just bar stool gossip looking for clicks. Coming from someone apparently in Denmark only lessens the likelihood they know anything at all about it.

Obviously I`m not making my point clear here. My problem isn`t so much that is total fabrication, it`s that the man was dismissed purely because he wasn`t/isn`t American, THEREFORE he isn`t knowledgable about the subject. Americans do not know EVERYTHING about football as I as an ENGLISHMAN don`t think I know more than you about ENGLISH football. It came across as a little racist if I`m honest.

I don't think any sane person on this forum puts much value in these rumors, but completely agree with above post by @buggybill2003. Nationality has nothing to do with someones knowledge on a certain subject, and you guys (@pacmaniac and @Mondio) know nothing about the man who wrote this piece, therefore making you when disregarding the rumor purely because he is Danish mindboggingly shortsighted. VERY disrespectful.

Sincerely,

DUTCH guy (who surely has no clue about AMERICAN football either LOL).

If you think I dismissed it because he Danish, you didn’t follow along very well.

How crappy would it be if he went somewhere else and won a Super Bowl?

Except for the fact that it would mean that the Packers didn't win it that year, it wouldn't bother me at all, I would be happy for him. Let's face it, there are probably a number of teams that Rodgers could and might win a Super Bowl with. Not to turn this into another "what's wrong with Rodgers" thread, but those thinking that the Packers offense was set up for him to be successful are fooling themselves. If this wasn't obvious when he went down in 2017 and Hundley crapped the bed with the same offense Rodgers had been running pretty well, then it should have become more obvious after watching the sh*t show of talent that Gute fielded in the way of his receiving corp this year and yet they still went 14-4.

Anyway, Rodgers winning a SB, I hope his next one is with the Packers, but if it is with another team, awesome.

So this Danish NFL commentator theorizes that Rodgers wont be playing in The 20/21 season ...

https://www.tv3sport.dk/sport/nfl/n...ron-rodgers-har-spillet-sit-sidste-snap-i-nfl

Roughly translated what he says is that some of The main reasons Will be because that Lafleur and him dont see eye to eye, and that The charade of pretending everything is fine is tiresome ... - come march The commentator speculates that there Will be some “breaking news” ... another reason Stated is that he thinks it shows that Rodgers doesnt have “his heart behind playing” anymore, which he reasons is among The reasons why aswell as it has shown this season with Rodgers performance ...

I haven’t seen anything remotely similar on Any American sites though ... - Just thought it was kind of a Wild theory lol
There's an object lesson to be gleaned. Don't pay attention to Danes commenting on NFL football on the web-inets.

"We have registered that you visit our website from a country other than Denmark. For copyright reasons, some videos will not be available to you."

I saw that and left......"F'em" if they don't want to share their ultimate wisdom with a mere Yank. :coffee:

I just hope I don't start seeing lots of ads for Chewing Tobacco, Lego's and pastries!

The Viking invasion of the British Isles......smh
I started to get into some of that and thought better of it. But since you bring it up I'll plow ahead.

Jump ahead nearly a millenium past the Viking invasions and we saw a capitulatinon to the Nazis in 6 hours flat. It goes to show, along with where Danish society is today, that what matters is not what is in the blood but rather the evolution of the collective mind in its various strains.

Today, by all accounts, the Danes score highly in the various attempts to measure "happiness" in their democratic socialist society with a flatish wealth distribution, the kinda thing Bernie Sanders is going for but without all the anger. It strikes me as the kind of "happiness" defined by comfort and the absence of pain.

A sterotypical Dane might see Rodgers as an unhappy individual carrying some burden and questioning the larger issues of life with his spirtual navel gazing. We see that too. But what it means and what is to be done about it has various perspectives depending your lens.

Since we're engaging in sterotypes, which have some validity as a lowest common denominator, the Danish perspective might be that Rodgers needs to quit, relieve his burden, and seek comfort and joy.

Well, there's a certain personality type, indigenously American if we continue with stereotypes, that sees the world through a different lens. Once youthful enthusiasm has passed, along with the fist pumping and championship belt in-your-facing, there's a high achieving type that is not fun- or comfort- or joy-seeking. It becomes more about hating losing than the elation in winning, about striving and overcoming, not joy-seeking. That personality type gets cranky as they get old, as Rodgers described himself this year. No less a competitor than Michael Jordan said repeatedly he hated losing more than he loved winning, while being merciless with teammates and difficult with coaches. While he cultivated a charismatic public face (something Rodgers lacks) his game was more fueled by a competitive anger than any joy.

There's a certain high achieving athlete who when even getting to the top of the mount, doesn't revel in the joy of winning but instead asks, "what's next?"

In short, if Rodgers seems like an "unhappy" man, I certainly wouldn't conclude he'll be looking for another line of work any time soon. There's another kind of "happiness" or, depending on how you look at, a personality type for whom happiness simply doesn't matter.

I totally get it bud, but the original poster, a Dane and a polite gentleman where my dealings with him, posted it and gave a translation of the report, nothing more and we have arrived at this point. HE didn`t say it, he merely reported and translated it.

Well, not picking on anybody in particular, but what is chosen to be reported or quoted in the way of opinion, not fact, says something about what that person believes or what gets them attention. I addressed the first possibility. I admit it might be the second possibility.

That's a fair point. But the bigger point is this that the guy on the Danish network is a columnist, or as we call them here, a talking head. In other words, I'd call him the Colin Cowherd of Denmark.

Now I don't think this particular columnist is as bad as Tyler Dunne writing that pile of :poop::poop::poop::poop: last year. That one was one of the worst articles ever written in sports history so much so that I will say I know more than Dunne.

See, I think there's a difference between that journalist you mentioned who as such I would take to mean is on the ground in the UK, asking around and getting firsthand reports from firsthand sources. There's Brit journalists here doing the same thing. But they are as we clarify, Journalists not columnists.

I would assume, based on this guy's assumption that he is simply forming his opinions without being on the ground in Green Bay talking to players or doing much digging. As such, well his opinions are going to seem quite a bit out of touch here and not have much pull among the general fan base here as compared to the GBPG or the MJS.

And I`m fine with your opinion on it, but I stand by my comment too. He reported it, he never said it was HIS opinion. just saying.

He has had a history here of latching onto fluff pieces meant to disparage AR12.

I`m not aware of that. He`s always been polite with me. If he`d come in guns blazing as some have over the years, my reaction would have been different. I`m fine with polite opinions ;). I hope we are okay too. I`m on record as not a big AR12 fan at times myself. Difference is good for conversation.
