RODGERS OUT FOR THE YEAR?

There's talk in league circles that the ankle injury suffered by Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in relief of Brett Favre might sideline Rodgers for the balance of the season.

The move might require the Packers to bring in a veteran quarterback down the stretch, since the only other signal-caller on the roster is roster is rookie Ingle Martin (or is it Marting Ingle?).

Rodgers replaced Favre on Sunday against the Patriots after Favre suffered an elbow injury. Favre, who also has a groin problem, is expected to play on Sunday, preserving his streak of 10,543 straight starts.

They have a history of being wrong, and specifically were wrong with Favre earlier this year. But boy I hope this doesn't end up true; in the chat after the game over at Packersnews.com, it was reported that Rodgers was noticably limping around the locker room.

The Milwaukee-Journal Sentinel reporter said he was limping badly following the game.

We'll see.

What would be be wrong with playing Ingle anyway? (note that Furman in in SC.)

I don't see Bret missing the game if at all possible -- especially against Holmgren. If we did need to bring someone else in, didn't we release a QB in training camp? He would at least know some of the plays.

If all else fails, there is always Jeff George. Then everyone would quit telling Bret how old he is. :rotflmao:

Seriously, the article would be more believable if it were anyone other than Bret and the details were more accurate since next week's game is Monday -- not Sunday and the streak is more like 233 or so.
