Geez, calm down. The point I was trying to make is that Packers fans should appreciate what Favre did on the field for the team although I will never forgive him for what he did afterwards. Just like we do with Lambeau although he didn't leave the Packers on good terms either.
The question was for NMF. Sorry.

Agree with you. However, the Favre haters on this sight can not see things logically or subjectively.

Lofton, in the eyes if these folks, should be treated the same way. He went into the HOF as a Packer--The haters should have shown up in Canton and pelted him with eggs for what he did to his wife, flipping off GB fans and leaving for another team. Same with Jim Taylor.

It just ridiculous.

Through 92 career starts-

Aaron Rodgers-
61 wins
31 losses
199 TD's
52 INTs
66.0%
25,023 passing yards
106.0 Passer Rating
5-4 playoff record

Brett Favre
62 wins
30 losses
178 Td's
92 INT's
61.6%
89.5 Passer Rating
22,073 passing yards
7-3 playoff record

Should note that Favre's 93rd career start was the final game of the '97 season, and of course his playoff record would have been 9-4 after that.

Rogers will have to take us to at least 1 more Championship in order to forever surpass no. 4's accomplishments in the minds of many fans. As it now stands, neither is in position to replace Bart Starr's position as the greatest of the franchise. The same reasoning is used to rate coaches; making it virtually impossible for anyone to surpass Lombardi.

I suspect he was attempting to make a point to me... but as could be expected with somebody that would actually stick up for Brent FVVfer, he was very confusing.

I don't understand your logic however captainWIMM. Not looking to argue but...

First point, you're trying really hard to compare apples to oranges. You even indicated that it's nothing more than rumors with Lambeau correct? You said "Many fans and executive committee members believed that Lambeau ....."

What we're dealing with with Sir Brent are not rumors they're facts. Two VERY DIFFERENT things.

Second point, if we know for a fact Lambeau pulled that, he## ya I would be against that! I agree it doesn't get any worse than that if we're comparing Packer history and egregious acts against the team.

I also don't get that mindset though. It's like people that bring up the Spanish Inquisition when somebody dares mention Islamic "extremists". You know the crowd... "Ya, well, Christians killed people in the name of religion also!"

Ummmmmm...OK...let the beheadings continue... I guess? Ahhhhhh.... Nothing to see here?

If people back in that day REALLY believed that's what Lambeau was up to, shame on them for not dealing with Lambeau like he should have been dealt with. There are plenty of great Packers we could name that field after! Two wrongs don't make a right.

There as to be some sort of playoff success this year. Another one and done isn't going to cut it.

You keep using that word but the only things ridiculous here are every one of your posts on the subject. There is no comparison to Brentd's level of BS that he pulled, the amount of crap he pulled, and all that he did against this franchise, verses ANY other Packer. None.

No doubt what Favre did was wrong, but I can't sit here and ignore all the great things he did for the Packers. After being a laughingstock for two decades, he and Holmgren resurrected the franchise and led it to a Super Bowl title. Sure, it was only one title, but he kept us competitive nearly every year. Only 1 losing season out of 16 is pretty impressive. I was quite upset when he went to the Vikings and did view it as a sort of betrayal. But time heals all wounds, and mine have healed up significantly. I can acknowledge the great things he did for this franchise despite a messy couple years at the end.

Yeah, it's only rumors, but I think I read that in various stories. Here's a good one though about that year and how a fire saved the Packers:

I think a lot of people were mad at Lambeau at that point but as time passed more and more people realized what he did for the Packers.

Don't get me wrong, I will never forget or forgive what Favre did from 2008-10 but nevertheless I appreciate the tenure he had as the Packers starting QB during his 16-year stint with the team.

This is like a divorce. If I divorce my wife of 20 years because she cheated on me, and when she left she then attempted to screw me over every way possible just in spite, would I "honor her"? OOOOOOOOOHHHH HE## NO!

I can be civil. I can ignore her. I can move on and be at peace given that I found a hotter wife with bigger jugs... but "honor" her? For what? Making me happy for a few years before completely ******** me over and making life horrible? There is no difference here. BRent FveVfe and Packer fans have irreconcilable differences! :D

Agreed. However, if I had a choice between the two I would take Rodgers. He is great on and off the field regardless of another SB.
