Like it or not, the quarterback is the most valuable player on an NFL team. The ones who have played at an elite level for a long time deserve to be involved in discussions about personnel decisions while most other players aren't. Just to be abundantly clear, Rodgers missed a single mandotary minicamp in his entire career. You obviously don't care about the truth if you consider that him holding out each season. Actually you don't get it at all. I'm not fine with it but absolutely don't care about what you consider Rodgers playing games. I don't listen to any of the talking heads trying to spin interviews in a way to fit their narrative. What I'm interested in is his and the team's performance on the field. Period. Let me be clear about it, Rodgers had a subpar season in 2022 for whatever reason and if the Packers feel he won't be able to perform at an elite level anymore I want them to trade him instead of paying another $60 million to keep him. Gutekunst better be right about it this time though as he made the mistake of believing he's done once already. Another thing I'm keeping a close look on is how teammates talk about him as well as the team responds to adversity. Taking a look at last season there's absolutely nothing that suggests Rodgers was a terrible teammate or the roster lacked leadership after the way they rebounded after falling to 4-8. Yet there's a significant portion of Packers fan who are up in arms because he didn't mention anything about what they wanted to hear in an interview with some of his buddies. As I have mentioned in the past, I advise you to stop caring about the perception the media is trying to make you believe about him. Don't get me wrong, I'm well aware that will be to no avail with any of you.
