The problem is that he's guaranteed $6 million by the Jets. So he has no incentive to sign for less than $6 million since he's guaranteed that for doing nothing. And there are zero teams that will be willing to offer him more than $6 million, which is what it take to incentivize him to play in 2017.

I would gladly take $6 million to sit on my couch and not get my body destroyed on a football field for 16+ games.

I read that after week 1, he can be signed for less....
