    reason he will be back

    loves the game
wants to see if he can get the team back to the playoffs
would not be happy sitting on his tractor from sept to jan
misses the locker room antics he is part of
family will vote again for him to play one more year

    reason for not coming back
miss out on his youngest growing up
wants to wake up on mondays and not hurt
can spend sept to jan on his tractor
travel with deanna in their rv bugging people on the freeway

What gets me is he said last year that if he does come back for another season, that it would for sure be his last season.

Perhaps it was linked to another statement he made at the time, the one about this being the most talented but also most inexperienced team he's ever played on.

On a seperate note, was it in his last press conf or the one before that he yet again made reference to one of the factors being whether the team wanted him back?

    Reasons he will come back
-Why go through 2005 and 2006 hell to not enjoy the greatness of 2007?
    -He has fun
-Get those records(i know he says he doesnt care, but...i think he does, who wouldnt?!!)

    Reasons he won't come back
    -to avoid 2005 and 2006 lose-fest repeat
-so MM will stop stealing his pregame sandwiches
-Losing confidence (hes questioning it more and more lately)

Tromadz hit on it! No matter what he says in his "aw shucks" way, he wants to be remembered for the records. This is NOT a blast at him. Frankly, if he really didn't care, I'd wonder about him. Would any QB in history NOT care that he had the most TDs in history? That alone guarantees his spot in the HOF. When he gets his records next year he'll then retire to broadcasting, doing lucrative commercials, etc. He's sitting on a gold mine and he won't be sacked at all.

My money says Brett Lorenzo Favree played two...count 'em two...more seasons after this...especially if K Rob discovers and embraces sobriety.

Can you imagine the drool rolling down his chin at the though of Koren Robinson, Donald Driver and a continually improving Greg Jennings? Dear Lord....lights out, man!

Well, like I've said in another thread, we're not seeing the full Greg Jennings. We got a glimpse of the full Greg Jennings in the first few weeks before the injury. Next season when he's 100%, Favre's never going to want to retire. Plus, the OL will be more solid, and KRob will be back. 2007 is going to be so much fun.

Well, there's this Peyton Manning character. Favre needs to play two or three more years after this to make sure Manning never catches him. We all know Manning won't last as long. However, Manning throws TDs at a faster rate.

You're right, with this line, he won't be touched much next year and the year thereafter.

He also said its his decision no one elses and he's going to retire when he is ready to regardless of what he says to the media.

    Favre's reasons to stay:

Just for the love of the game
Because when he does retire he has many years to sit on his tractor or play golf why do that any sooner then he has to.
He will miss football, its in his blood
He is still pretty accurate in his throwing and moving in the pocket
He still feels he can help the team win
He will miss football and the fans

    Favre's reasons to retire:

He feels he cant help his team win anymore
He can spend time with his family
He can finally heal all those aching bones in his body

#1 Reason Favre is coming back next year...

    "Just to prove Tromadz wrong"...(B.Favre)

(That a direct quote.....I heard him say it..!)

    Reasons he's back:
    Loves playing
Realizes when he retires it's over for good
If we can when the last few he'll have hope for next year
    O-line improvement
Knows my life is over if he quits

    Reasons he'll quit:
Don't want to think about it but...
Sure has taken shots for this team
Like me he knows the joy of country life
His daughter lives back in Miss.
Has often said he has nothing left to accomplish

is the general agreement with everybody that the records are no chance this season? he could pass at least 3-4 TD's in either of the following 2 games, then we don't know what sort of team Bears are putting out on NYE.

You are a one trick pony!!!!
One that most are tired of reading about. We get it Trom, you want Brett gone, you don't have to continually take shots at the guy every chance you get, The guy you so love and admire!!!
