he then retracted it either before training camp, or after cant recall..

and it did make me think too..why did he change his mind..

Perhaps it was linked to another statement he made at the time, the one about this being the most talented but also most inexperienced team he's ever played on.

On a seperate note, was it in his last press conf or the one before that he yet again made reference to one of the factors being whether the team wanted him back?

Tromadz hit on it! No matter what he says in his "aw shucks" way, he wants to be remembered for the records. This is NOT a blast at him. Frankly, if he really didn't care, I'd wonder about him. Would any QB in history NOT care that he had the most TDs in history? That alone guarantees his spot in the HOF. When he gets his records next year he'll then retire to broadcasting, doing lucrative commercials, etc. He's sitting on a gold mine and he won't be sacked at all.

Well, like I've said in another thread, we're not seeing the full Greg Jennings. We got a glimpse of the full Greg Jennings in the first few weeks before the injury. Next season when he's 100%, Favre's never going to want to retire. Plus, the OL will be more solid, and KRob will be back. 2007 is going to be so much fun. :jumpsmile:

Well, there's this Peyton Manning character. Favre needs to play two or three more years after this to make sure Manning never catches him. We all know Manning won't last as long. However, Manning throws TDs at a faster rate.

You're right, with this line, he won't be touched much next year and the year thereafter.

Just for the love of the game
Because when he does retire he has many years to sit on his tractor or play golf why do that any sooner then he has to.
He will miss football, its in his blood
He is still pretty accurate in his throwing and moving in the pocket
He still feels he can help the team win
He will miss football and the fans

He feels he cant help his team win anymore
He can spend time with his family
He can finally heal all those aching bones in his body
