I can’t argue with your logic and reasoning. It’s more of a personal hope. So the way I see it. All this anti-Lafleur rhetoric this last year. What ever that was. Anyways, the main jab was that his offense was predictable. It’s been speculated that GB used the same language and signals. Same plays for too long, and the film junkies cracked the code. We ran it a lot earlier when Jacobs got here and Love was still developing. Lafleur answer: supposedly we are going to see a revamped offense… talk of opening up the offense, and letting Love loose. That’s music to my ears. The coach and GM got their extensions. Now we get to see what this team they built and trained, can really do…. I’m excited. So we seem kind of 66/33 on four conventional slicing and dicing WRs in the sub-6’ height range. And the two physical freak 6’4”220 running 4.4 and straight up scrappy. Red zone threat. That should be our theme. Because that perfectly portrays what this group of big WRs are. A threat to the red zone. I’m not ignoring that Melton and Shepherd were in there playing down the stretch in the end of season/playoffs, when other players were healthy. But what I seen today was Williams has been playing some gunner. Moore has been playing some special look plays just for him on offense. Melton played with CBs last week, and returned back to WRs not long after. Maybe I’m just leaning because I want GB to keep Neyor on the 53, and put Sturdivant on the PS. But it seems like if Williams becomes gunner. And Moore is the returner. And CBs don’t need Melton. All of Meltons jobs are replaceable. Being Gunner/WR/CB/ Returner…. Seemingly replaced by Moore. As I said. I think GB should be more 50/50 with Reed, Golden, Moore being the slicers and dicers. And on the physically bigger and stronger side. GB fields Watson, Williams, Neyor. Make it a supplement to the (only)3 TEs we keep. A shallow but potent pool of Kraft, Musgrave, and 6’7” Whyle being our blue collar Gronk in the red zone. Our #4 TEs being such a drop off that an extra Olineman or talented WR could be a better option. Damn shame we lost Fitzpatrick. He would’ve been #4 lock. Maybe he makes a mid season come back if one of our guys go down…. Or maybe an affordable veteran becomes available yet.
