PICK one player around the whole NFL that you think would make the most difference for us, getting us to the next level, winning a damn Super Bowl. This isn't just for this season, but permanent, so factor age & health I guess......

We've obviously been close many times. One play is all it would have taken last year, and 2 weeks ago at Arizona......

So going into next year, if you were able to take ONE player, any player, from another team, WHO do you take?

they would all make us pretty formidable, but having Gronk would put us on another level.

    Watt
    Kuechly
    Julio
    Mack
    Miller
    Brown
    Beckham
    Peterson
    Gurley

Something like this if I had to put em in order imo.

Since this is pure fantasy, not on the list: Superman. He plays both TE and ILB.

With so many great players on the least I just had to go with the one I think is the best, JJ Watt. He's once in a generation. 20 or so sacks a year from a 3-4 end? I think having him and Daniels on the ends and Matthews and Peppers rushing from the outside would put our defense on another level.

in 2012 I said JJ Watt, I stand by that.

While not a great fit in our defense, Aaron Donald is as dominate as any defensive player

Really? Gurley is great and all but as far as who I think would have the greatest position impact for one season among the guys above he would probably be last on my list. If we are getting the guy strictly for 1 year I probably wouldn't even take him over AP.

All of these are great players, so I went with what position would help most. I voted for Kuechly because it actually addresses two positions of need. He takes over ILB opposite Sam Barrington, allowing Clay Matthews to move back outside solving our soon-to-be OLB problem.

I have little doubt that our offense will be closer to years past in 2016 than our 2015 season. A shutdown/impact defense would make us very dangerous.

We could get ALL 10 of them and it'd be the Packers luck to have them all get high ankle sprains in the preseason that would make them all mortal the entire year.
That vented, I'd go with the MLB and Kuechly. Need a solid core to build out from.

Kuechly watt gronk are the top tier.

Like was said above Kuechly fills two holes in one. Gronk would make Cobb and Nelson almost unstoppable because who would safeties go with? Watt is just so stinking good he makes our defense top 10 or better. Think of watt Daniels matthews and one more rushing the passer on 3rd down

Wasn't questioning that at all, just whether he makes the team better than any of the other guys on the list.

I mean for value to the team. Aaron Rodgers + Todd Gurley? Think about that, seriously.

No. No he isnt. Watt is the best player in the list followed by Gronk and Kuechly is possibly the best MLB in the game and then there's the premier edge rushers in Mack and Miller. Also they'd have a FAR bigger impact on this team than ANY RB in the league.

It isn't even debatable whether Watts the best player on the list though. The fact that I actually have to type that is unsettling.

I don't think some people have a true appreciation for just how good JJ Watt is. At most positions, the 'best' player is debatable. You can debate between Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Cam Newton, etc. You can debate between Leveon Bell, Todd Gurley, Adrian Peterson, etc. You can debate between Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, and Odell Beckham.

You can't debate Watt's dominance. No other 3-4 end even comes close to being able to do what he does.

Name the last superstar RB who (helped) put a team into the Super Bowl. Answer: Marshawn Lynch, whom the Bills had arranged to trade to the Packers about 6 years ago, for about a 3rd round pick. Usually a RB doesn't get a team to the top even if they are great. See AP, LT....

Flip a coin then. The OP asked for ONE. I'd also take most any on the list but a coin toss showed me the way.
