I think he would be a great addition to the D-line. He probably is the top rated DE in the FA market with Freeney and Smith locked up by their respective teams. What say you?

i say address needs first, and by that i mean create the opening by getting rid of KGB, I don't picture Ted Thompson winning any bidding war and by that I mean the bidding for Adalius Thomas...we have our starting four d-linemen and can easily pick up a situational rusher without spending top dollar, the draft is always full of the DE/OLB types and why not go and draft one on day two

You know, we talk a lot about moving KGB and picking up a DE better at stopping the run, but have we heard ANYTHING from the coaching staff or management indicating that they've even considered getting rid of KGB? If we have, post a link.

PFT doesn't count.

If I am not mistaken, Kerney has been prone to injury.

kmac, I haven't heard anything either in terms of the coaching staff saying they'd want to, or have even considered, releasing KGB.

However, I think TT and MM teling Ferggy he was still in their plans, and not doing anything with KGb, might be an indication KGB's job isn't so secure.

Otherwise, I think it's more an issue of people wanting KGB to be gone, and some idiot news writers (specifically at the Press Gazette) flaming their limited football knowledge as if they know what's going to go down and suggesting KGB being released is a sure thing that has led people to FALSELY conclude KGB is a lock to get the ax.

I still think by the time it is all said and done, KGB's salary may be a good price for a specialist pass rusher. In the end, we may end up paying around 8-9 million to Jenkins and KGB to serve as a run specialist and pass rusher, which may be just as wise as paying one DE, Kerney/Smith/Thomas the same price to come in be good in the pass rushing are and at least average in the run stopping area.

I'm not a big Kerney fan either. Injury prone as stated and a lot like KGB. Kerney has been declining for years now. My guess is he's looking for one last big pay day before he retires or starts to bounce from team to team to find a Super Bowl ring. I rather go out and give Adalius Thomas a big contract and convert him to DE than sign Kerney. In fact I’ve been warming up to the idea of Thomas possibly but not Kerney in my opinion.

first of all patrick kerney is 30 and coming off an injured prone season, why the hell would we spend top dollar for a guy who maybe has a year or two left in his tank, tt would never make such a ridiculous move
