Posted Jan. 22, 2006 CHRIS HAVEL Jagodzinski has right game plan for offense Jeff Jagodzinski talks football like a third-shift mill worker on lunch break. That’s one reason to be encouraged. Another is that despite Jagodzinski’s unrefined, blue-collar attitude, the Green Bay Packers’ new offensive coordinator has studied the classics. From Bill Walsh to Mike Holmgren to Mike Shanahan, he has watched more film than Ebert or Roeper. Jagodzinski, 42, combines a fullback’s mentality with a student’s curiosity. What that means for the Packers’ offense remains to be seen, but the Milwaukee native’s straightforward approach to offense seems more smash-mouth than lip service. A good game plan He’ll throw deep to stretch defenses, but not at the expense of moving the chains. He’ll deploy five receivers, but he won’t ignore the tight end. If a play works, he’ll run it until the defense stops it. Then he’ll adjust. He’ll be creative on third-and-3 to third-and-6, but he realizes it’s OK to run — and punt if necessary — in that situation. “Field-position football is very important,†
