This is a very encouraging article. It is proof enough for me that Thompson's fiscal approach is sound. What remains to be seen is if his personnel decisions pay off. I'm hoping to get a better read on that next year.
If there is a good free agent safety, that's who the Packers need. Even an older guy might be okay. John Lynch has done pretty well in Denver for a few years now, after it looked like his career was almost over. Whoever Thompson brings in, he needs to run faster than Marquand Manuel and play smarter than Nick Collins.
