Holding the Dolphins to 17 points, with all those weapons, was a darn fine job. 2 4th down stops, and a turnover on ST's all helped along the way to a Big W. 9-3 is smelling a lot like a clinched playoff birth in the near future. Go Pack Go!!!!

Miami was in a charitable mood starting with the huge muffed punt and followed up with a slew of penalties and an I'll advised gamble at the end of the first half. Its tough to win in the NFL. If a team wants to make it easier, let them.

Huge Win tonight! I think we have a chance in Detroit. We need to get up on them early. I think it will be much tougher this year than last year though.

Jordan Love earned a leg.

21/28, 274 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT

129.17 QBR

Nice to see him getting back on track at the right point of the season.
Wow, thanks 13. I didn't know those were his final stats. And yeah, the last two weeks he's been healthy and looking a lot more like the QB we saw later last year. The injuries did take a toll on him and it's a good thing Gluten grabbed Willis when he did.

As an aside, the tributes to Madden were very nice last night. I do miss the guy.

My best guess after watching Detroit and GB
Detroit has Peaked. Thats not an insult or implication of future success/failure. Detroit is riding their ceiling but wavering some. Now the ? Is this. Can Detroit maintain that peak level of play into the Postseason 6 Weeks from now?

Detroit caught the Packers at a lower point. Not our bottom, but between our bottom and our current level of play. I think Detroit will remain very good, but every couple of weeks might play down closer to their competition. I think GB is still rising, but approaching their ceiling. I still don’t think GB had played their best game when pointing to ceiling ability. If GB gets J’aire back and the Packers get some additional “surprise” juice from Marshawn Lloyd or Luke Musgrave (who I believe both will play again in regular season). They could really elevate to another plateau similar to what Detroit has done. Both Marshawn or Luke can add juice to 2 positions that already are playing well. We’re about to be deep and dangerous at 2 positions that are critical in Postseason imo.

I think GB, MN and Detroit are 3 of the 6 best teams as of this minute. I have Steelers a sliver behind us today. I would not want to be another team playing the Packers in January if we remain or get healthier. That goes for the Eagles or Detroit also. Our Run Defense is figuring things out and can manage that aspect against either team and I’m not saying that lightly.

Packers have allowed 85 yards on the ground in the last 2 weeks combined. It displays competence in Run D that I haven’t seen in former DC’s

Yeah I don't think a coach like Dan Campbell is gonna put his guys on cruise control. They have too much talent across the board, including coaching.

And especially after taking their collective eye off the ball against Chicago, Campbell is gonna be pissed and so are his players. Like the few teams with championship aspirations, their best play is ahead of them.

The Packers are certainly playing better than when they last met. I expect a good game. But for now, in terms of AFC and NFC power rankings, it's the Lions and everyone else, imo. That can certainly change and the Packers have the ability to do it starting Thursday night.

The Pack is catching Detroit at the right time. I agree with Old school that the Pack are ascending, and Detroit might just be in neutral. I think that has a lot to do with their injuries. They are really banged up currently. GB needs this game more than the Lions IMO. A win would be a big confidence boost. I still fear a healthy Lions team in the playoffs. I am very interested in the Eagles - Ravens game this week also. On the other hand I am not quite as impressed with their run D. Miami has more than double yardage passing compared to rushing. A healthy Detroit team IMO is the best RB rushing team in the league.

All good points Schultz. The Lions are pretty nicked up right now so the Packers are catching them at the right time. I won't be surprised if the Packers win. It's indoors, and for a dome, I don't recall Ford Field being that loud. That could certainly change.

Hopefully Doubs and JA will be back along with Cooper. I'm sure Campbell will give his team an earful after that near disaster against the Bears (not that the Packers fared any better against the Bears).

FWIW, I think the Packers best chance is to start fast and take a two possession lead into the half. That would be ideal and leaves the RPO on the table. The challenge for MLF is using some new formations, stunts, etc. to get Jacobs into the secondary. If the opposite happens and the Packers have to throw then the Lions have the advantage.

Looking forward to this game.

The Lions are just winning easily most of the time. Campbell every so often has to put back their killer instinct. And if pushed they will go on a tirade. Blowout wins this season sometimes make it hard to " get up " for a game you should win easily. Remember the Packers in 2011. The regular season was a piece of cake. We were the SB Champs and were 13-0. We went into KC to play the REALLY BAD Chiefs before Andy Reid and Mahommes got there. So nonchalant that MM suited up only one RB and one FB and we lose. Lombardi's only loss in 1962 was on Turkey Day when we were 10-0. The team was not " Up " for that one. But the great coach gave them the wake up call and they ran the table after that.

Ouch. I remember that loss in KC after a 13-0 start - and yes, before Reid and Mahomes. Should have been a walk in the park. But players will look ahead to the next game, something I think the Lions were doing Thursday. That's always a mistake, and the Bears are no longer an easy out.

So Campbell will have them fired up. It's the biggest regular season game for both teams. They'll both be ready.

The Lions were a really good team in 62. I think they lost only 2 games all year

They lost 3. 9-7 to the Packers. 17-14 to the Giants. And 3-0 to the Bears. Talk about a season of just falling short. Had a great defense.

Yes. I actually remember that game well. I can tell you where I was (Buffalo Wild Wings, Roanoke Va) The people I was with weren’t big Footbsll fans but i was decked in Packer gear.

I really think we just let our guard down to be truthful. It’s hard to go
13-0 and lock up a #1 Seed and not celebrate early.

It must be hard for teams who have separated themselves from everyone else to not look past an inferior opponent. But it happens. Detroit sleepwalked through the Bears game and should have paid a price. But the "Double-Doink Syndrome" saved them. Didn't save Eberflus - but at least he can be home with family for Christmas.
