The Green Bay Packers signed CB Warren Gatewood (5-11, 188).

Gatewood, 22, saw action in 42 games over four seasons at Alcorn State, recording 117 tackles, 33 passes defensed, eight interceptions and one blocked kick. As a senior, he set career highs with 47 tackles and four interceptions. He earned defensive player of the game honors in the Braves’ victory over Grambling in the 2015 Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship Game, recording three interceptions, including one he returned 25 yards for a touchdown.

Longshot to say the least. Im actually excited about our Corners. Not like Charles Woodson and Al Harris excited. But no reason why Shields and Randall can't hold there own. Randall showed much needed skill last year. Glad we drafted him now, wasn't at first. Rollins is going to be a beast. Amazing athlete that shows the ball awareness like Hayward also did. Gunter should definitely see the field now that Hayward went to San Diego. What a great find after the draft. Does seem like our secondary is coming together. Only negative to speak of is youth

There's no doubt the Packers secondary is one of the best in the league. As long as everyone stays healthy I'm not sure Gunter will see a lot of snaps as Hyde is probably ahead of him on the depth chart for playing time at dime corner.

The only reason for concern is the lack of depth at safety.

I agree depth at saftey is thin. Really thought Jeremy Cash S from Duke would be brought in as UDFA if not late round draft pick. Carolina grabbed him up and now they have another young player with talent on defense.

Jeremy Cash would have been a great pickup in undrafted free agency. Kentrell Brice showed some promise during the offseason but that doesn't mean a whole lot as long as he can't make some plays in preseason games.
