There is confidence among the national media in the Packers.
The Packers are ranked No. 1 in ESPN's Week 1 NFL Power Rankings.
ESPN's NFC East Blogger Dan Granziano writes, "The defense should be better, and a disappointing home playoff loss should only strengthen the resolve of Aaron Rodgers & Co. to get back to the Super Bowl."
One team which many are high on is the Chicago Bears. Love Smith's team is revamped with a new offensive approach under offensive coordinator Mike Tice, also having acquired wide receiver Brandon Marshall in March and firing offensive coordinator Mike Martz. It was said that Cutler was not allowed to call one offensive audible throughout 2011, and the marriage between Martz and Cutler was sour. The Bears come in at No. 9 on ESPN's rankings.
Here's where the Packers rank according to various other outlets:
ProFootballtalk.com's cleverly titled Week Zero Rankings put the Packers in at No. 1 with the Giants, Patriots, Ravens and Texans to follow.
Fox Sports NFL power rankings arranged by former Ravens head coach Brian Billick, who seems to be having more fun as an NFL commentator than a coach, puts the Packers at No. 3 behind the Eagles and Patriots.
Billick doesn't say it, but it would appear he's not sold on the Packers defense, like a lot of people.
