Proceeds From 2008 NFL Packers Alumni Weekend Golf Outing

The Green Bay Packers Foundation and the Green Bay chapter of the NFL Alumni awarded grants Wednesday of $12,500 each to the American Foundation of Counseling Services and Rawhide Boys Ranch.

The $25,000 total in grants was made possible from the proceeds of the chapter's 2008 golf outing held during the annual Green Bay Packers alumni weekend. The chapter's donation mission, "Caring for Kids," is the guiding principle each year when potential recipients are examined. Rawhide's Youth and Family Counseling Initiative and AFCS's 'Aging Out' program, which helps foster care children transition into their next stage of life, were this year's recipients because of their efforts with youth.

"Rawhide and the AFCS 'Aging Out' program perform great work for our youth and we're very pleased to be able to help them continue their success," said Sam Kluck, committee member for the Green Bay chapter..
