The Green Bay Packers today announced plans to celebrate the 10th anniversary season of the Super Bowl XXXI Championship during the upcoming season.

Among the items that will feature the anniversary logo are the team’s Gameday Program, the media guide and the Packers Yearbook, according to a news release issued by the Packers.

“Winning the Super Bowl after the 1996 season was a tremendous accomplishment for the team and an awesome experience for our fans, and with this season marking the 10th anniversary, the organization wanted to honor that team’s championship,â€

I dont like this idea.

"Hey remember that time we won the superbowl!? Let's celebrate that!"

How about...everyone focuses on winning another one in the upcoming years?

Re: Packers announce plans to mark 10th anniversary of Super

I have mixed feelings. But i look at it this way.......maybe it will help light a fire under the current players, who will see what kind of honor the 1996 players are getting, and say "I want some of that for me!" Thus, hopefully giving a little extra push.
At least we don't have to look back 21 years, like some other team does!

Maybe the Vikings could show Jim Marshall on their Jumbo-tron running the wrong way every week before their home games!

LOLOLOL!!!! And the Lions could show a blank screen for 15 minutes! (That would be better then any of their "highlights!")

"Da Bears" could show a 15 minute loop of "The Super Bowl Shuffle". (Of course they would have to transfer it off of the "Beta" tape they have it on now!)

I will be in Green Bay 10 years to the day of the XXXI Victory to show my undying love for the Packers. I will be getting my first tattoo and nice G right on my shoulder and I can't wait.

It's called a smoke screen folks. The administration and coaching staff are sensing a bad season coming and so they're going to do everything they can to take the pressure off of their season by emphasizing the past. I will say something one more time that I've said numerous times before. The Packers of 2006 are paying the price of bad drafts and bad decisions under Mike Sherman. Although the cupboard may not be bare, it's pretty close. I'm hoping the choices that TT has made will be the foundation of the next great team in Green Bay, but until they're there, you're going to see more of the "lets celebrate what already happened so we don't have to think so much about what is happening now."

Is Brett the only one left from that team? I bet he'll get some good ribbing from the new teammates while the jumbotron rolls them images.( "hey.. who was that QB wearing your number back then with the brown hair?")

No. William Henderson was on that team as well and still is.

Come on now! You are the same people who ***** about the Bears remembering the Super Bowl. I happen to agree. Winning the Super Bowl was great but let it go already. I really don't need to see William Perry again thank you.

Its the ten year aniversary, something to reflect upon for a different generation of packer fans. See the Bears only won one Super Bowl, so rejoicing over the same victory could get old.

But Packer fans have two generations of fans to celebrate Superbowls in.
The 60's & the 90's.

C'mon Zero where is your knowledge, as how the Packer Corporation works.

Packer Executive Vice president, General Manager and director of Football Operations Ted Thompson is in charge of signing the Packer '06 draftees along with Packer director of Finance Andrew Brandt.

The Packer Publicity & Promotion Department develops these type of promotions, not Football operations.

I will "side" with female posters on this topic. "Wet Noodles!!" I kind of like that description!! "LOL's"

I'm know sure what to take from this. Do you think I was serious with comment? It was 100% sarcasm :)
