Interesting...I remember being a kid in the late 50s and my father (we lived in Calif.) betting some guy in his office every Sunday. He would put $5 on The Pack and the other guy would put $5 on the LA rams. Needless to say he did not win many bets. Shows how a great coach can sometimes turn a team around. He knew which players to get off the bench and into the game, where to play the players and how to get the most out of their abilities.

In the late 50s many Wisconsin fans were Baltimore Colts fans because of Alan Ameche; and an abysmal Packers club. Friends of mine laughed at me in '58 for being a Packers fan. It didn't take things long to change once Lombardi arrived. And it didn't take long for another change once he left....
