And if the Packers did offer an $8M/year deal it may have contained relatively little guaranteed money and big money at the end of the contract which would be unlikely to be earned. Such an offer would allow the Packers to walk away after a couple of seasons with little cap consequence. IOW, all $8M/year contract offers aren’t the same.
