Ball has good receiving skills and he blocks well, which is why he's an ideal 3rd down back, but he simply doesn't have the big play ability to make it as a featured back in the NFL. Hell, there are probably a few DTs in the NFL who could run him down in the open field. Simply put, he's not big enough to run over defenders and he's not fast enough to run away from them. No thanks. Most of the credit for his production should rightfully go to the 5 widebodies he ran behind for 4 years. Put him on a team like Boston College or NC State and nobody likely has a second thought about him.  Certainly not in the first round.</blockquote>
