It certainly looks like a pigs nose on top of a cows nose :rotflmao:

    Lucy The Two Nosed Cow

LINCOLN COUNTY -- It's an oddity, a freak of nature. It's a cow with two noses and it's right here in our area.

It's something you have to see to believe.

And even then you have to do a double take.

"I didn't notice anything too different about her until I got her in the barn and all of a sudden I went to feed her a bottle of milk and I thought maybe she'd been kicked in the nose and there were two noses there."

So Mark Krombholz took a closer look at his newest calf. Sure enough, you can see it right here.

    Lucy has two noses.

"It's a functioning nose because the middle of her second nose the flap would go in and out when she drank out of the bottle like that. It was kind of funny. It caught my eye right away so I kind of laughed at that."

While both noses seemed to be working fine, Mark called up his breeder to come check Lucy out.

"It looked like she was comfortable laying there in her bedding and breathing and spunky just like you want to see, it's just that she's got two noses," says breeding program specialist Scott Grund.

While Lucy was born last Friday, Mark's still having a hard time believing a calf with two noses was born on his farm.

"You see people who drop off pictures off like that, but it's the only time I've seen it. You see pictures on TV of two headed calves like that, but nothing in person like that."

And there's no real good way to explain how Lucy ended up with two noses.

"It's a rarity. It's just a freak of nature is what you'd call it."

Scott says these types of things aren't usually a part of genetics, just a mutation that happens occasionally, but they do keep track of them.

"We'll fill out a form, send that on to the company in Shawano and keep record of it. If by chance this would happen more than a few times they start looking at sire that we're using."

Now in almost 30 years breeding cows, Scott says he's only filled out about ten forms.

So while mutations like Lucy's two noses are unusual, they do happen.

Lucy was born on a hobby farm so she'll be a pet. If she's able, they'll breed her just like any other cow.

That is pretty freaky. Sounds like interspecies breeding there.

That pig snout could have done something useful like being part of a hot dog.

By the way do you know that the USDA permits 2 rodent hairs per pound of hot dogs??

The Lincoln County Fair will be going on all through this weekend, but this year there's an international celebrity making her first appearance.

Lucy the 2-nosed calf is using the fair as her first public appearance anywhere.
Her owners say they knew the 2nd nose was highly unusual, but didn't know people would be so interested.

"We weren't exactly expecting what we got", said the Calf's owner, Mark Krombholz. "But it's like wow, newspapers all over the world, and telephone calls from different TV shows that want to talk to us."

The family says their famous calf was in newspapers in Russia and China. They have gotten an admiring letter from Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the calf was also mentioned on the Tonight Show.

Lucy is now 2 months old and the family says she is perfectly healthy

Lucy, the two nosed Holstien had a very funny nose
and if you ever saw it, you would it even grossed.
All of the other Holstiens used to laugh and call her names.
They never let poor Lucy join in any Holstien games.
