[QUOTE="Jules, post: 411527, member: 4098"] The Packers faced an elite D in the Super Bowl. And won. That SB is part of their 18 game win streak. You could also call the Bears of last year an elite D? The Packers beat them three time in this win streak, at the very least last years Bears were a top 10 D. The two defenses to me that are elite or close to it every single year and the most proven are Pittsburgh and Baltimore. I simply do not think there is anything most D's can do to rattle Aaron even if **** Lebeau and his experienced squad couldn't in the biggest stage of all in Aaron's first Super Bowl. If you want to out score them go ahead and try. We have seen teams try it too. It's tough as hell. The Packers just have more weapons and a more complete QB. Now the best example for me anyway in recent years of a truly elite D going against a truly elite O is the 2006 Colts O vs. the 2006 Ravens D. That Ravens D was a beast but had a lackluster offense, scary thing is that Baltimore O finished the year ranked 17th in offense and the Niners only rank 24th right now in offense. That 2006 Ravens D though was ranked first in defense, 6th against the pass, 2nd in rushing defense, first in interceptions, first in scoring and second in sacks. That D was an animal. And did they give the Colts O trouble? They sure did. Held them to only FGs. But, on the flip side the Ravens OFFENSE was not good enough. So the Colts just simply got more FGs and won the game in Baltimore after I heard they would get destroyed all week. I had no doubts the Colts win that game. I even took a nap before it. Just simply had to stop the run and make them beat us with the pass. And they could not. These Packers are going to be really really really tough to beat no matter what the defensive numbers say.
