Nothing spectacular, but he's a football player, with good size. Good value here, although I wonder why we didn't take Ben Patrick with one of our 6's.
OFFICIAL: GRADE PACK DRAFT 2007 I gave it a B. Here are my individual grades. Justin Harrel: B- I really hope this guy pans out, because if he is as good as Thompson and the staff had him rated, it will be a great choice at a position of need. The middle of the D-line will really clog up middle runs and free up the LB's. He is supposedly a hard worker and cares. If he becomes just a good DT, I'm sure there will be criticism of the pick. Brandon Jackson: A- One of my favorite RB's in this year's draft. He is a complete back, with a skill advantage in almost every aspect of his game. Just wait, you guys are going to love him and Morency in the backfield. James Jones: C+ Don't get me wrong, he could definitely contribute on the team. I question the value a little bit (think we could have gotten him in the 4th, although I don't know with the run of WR's that happened) and I wonder where this leaves Ferguson. Aaron Rouse: B+ This guy is a physical freak, with good game, and I think will be a punishing safety after he only improves his explosiveness (which is already good) in our weight program. If he develops as everyone seems to think he can, Collins and Rouse will be a fearsome duo back there. Allen Barbre: B- Probably going to develop him for a few years to take over for Clifton. He comes from D2, so he has some work to do, but the physical tools are all there. 16 pancakes in one game. David Clowney: A- Great value pick, and gives us downfield speed. Man, we are loaded with promising receivers now, and Driver to lead them. Korey Hall: C A bit of a head scratcher just because of the FB/LB question. He looks to be an all around ST, utility guy, which is always good to have. Sounds like he has the right football attitude too. Desmond Bishop: B I will never complain when we add a player in the 6th round who was the defensive leader of his team. Could be a nice surprise for us, and at least a quality backup. Mason Crosby: A- Are you kidding me? This guy's leg is ridiculous. He has kicked field goals over 70 yards in practice. Amazing value. DeShawn Wynn: B+ Another good value pick, and a guy who kind of reminds me of Michael Turner. He has that low center of gravity and incredibly quick legs for a guy his size. A fun backup RB, I'll enjoy seeing what he can do in the preseason. Clark Harris: B We needed depth at TE, and we get it with our last pick. Nothing spectacular, but he's a football player, with good size. Good value here, although I wonder why we didn't take Ben Patrick with one of our 6's.
