Monday is a milestone in my life. I turn 50! I'm not quite sure how to react to it. I don't ACT 50 (more like 15!) Most days i FEEL like i'm 50 (or 80!)
I don't know if I'll be here or not. I don't know what, if anything, my wife has planned for me.
So i have just over one more day of "being young" till I'm "AARP" bound! (They have already been sending me their mailings!!! I just throw them in the trash!!!)
I was thinking of getting a birthday cake complete with candles.............but I couldn't get the fire permit!
Does turning 50 mean i have to start wearing my pants right up under my "man boobs" now? Do i start wearing knee high white socks and black shoes with my shorts? Do i start yelling at the kids for walking on my lawn?
(I don't have a lawn right now, but want to know for future referance.)

Cheesey, we have the same birthday!!! I'll be 26 on Monday.

I already yell at kids that walk on my lawn. It may be a rental property, but damn it, I just reseeded that grass!

    Tom Hanks 1956
    Kelly McGillis 1957
Kevin Nash 1959 for old wrestling fans
    Marc Mero 1960 see above
Trent Green 1970 Hey, He's Brett's age now!!
Sheldon Benjamin 1976 for young wrestling fans
    Fred Savage 1976
Mitchel Musso 1991 anyone with teens in their house and Disney will know who he is -- anyone else -- probably not.

The Official "Signs that Cheesey is Old List"

    - The other day someone complimented Cheesey on his new alligator shoes and he was barefoot.

    - Cheesey's wife said, "Let's go upstairs and make love" and Cheesey answered, "Honey, I can't do both!"

    -Cheesey's semi-annual erection became an annual semi-erection!

-The twinkle in Cheesey's eye is only the reflection of the sun on his bifocals.

-Cheesey is suffering from Mallzheimer's disease. When he goes to the mall, and forgets where he parked his car.

-The other day Cheesey was sitting on a park bench, and a Boy Scout came over and helped him cross his legs.

-Tomorrow, when Cheesey lights the candles on his birthday cake, a group of campers will form a circle and start singing "Kumbaya."

-At a cafeteria, Cheesey was overheard to complain that the Jello was too tough.

-Cheesey sings along with the elevator music.

    -Cheesey has dreams about prunes.

    - When Cheesey sinks his teeth into a steak, they stay there.

    - Cheesey's idea of "Getting a little action" means he does'nt have to take a laxative.

    Happy Birthday Cheesemeister!!!!!!!!!!

    Happy Birthday Cheesemeister!
If I was able to get down to Lambeau today I would buy you a beer at Curley's Pub.

When I turned 50 I wouldn't even have noticed except my wife threw a big surprise party for me at the Congress Bar and Pizza.
I'll be 59 in October and I still feel like a kid.

:cheerleader: happy birthday mr. cheesey: this is your wife, and how do you do, all packers family of my dearest and best friend, and husband. :packbeer:

I have been married to alan for short of 26yrs, and he is all class, and such a sense of humor... because i have history with a wonderful guy there is a charm about him. :welcome:

He has always treated me with high respect and a lady, otherthan i was raised .... in his life he has always found a silver lining about everything, never to complain, ever, in his situation of being ill, sometimes, i deal with it by working and trying to stay ahead of the bills, and trying to not let that upset him. :noflame: :noflame:

    there i go being serious.....

but realisitically packers is a family thing that was given to him by his dad. His dad was very popular in the past of his family and the shock and loss of his dad to the family gatherings didnt make it easy for alan to grow up in. I was always told by family of his to plan as if he wont be around. :eek:fftopic: many of the family members had a hard time responding and dealing with cheesey made him feel uncomfortable

so cheesey would always joke as if it didnt bother him and when it did, he would always involve time in the packers, and his love for them as history attached to the one he loved dearly, now all is gone, and the class act stands alone, at 50 now how do i, we deal with that,,,, at 40 i purchased a new tracker and a huge party, figuring as a old rule, to listen to the elders of the family respect..... :kickcan:

and one man standing, i didnt plan a party, because i just didnt think any one would care enough to attend. :chalflag:

but then i remembered you cant plan your life, and if you did to make yourself happy sometimes your not, then i remember the planner of our lives and how miracles can happen,. we dont schedule or plan them, but i do know, packers is a comfort to the cheesey man and he has done so much to make people happy, even if its a word of kindness, he tries to help in any way he can, he forgets his own to do for others. :cheerleader:

 but i can say i showed up earlier then he expected, and he was reading all you wrote to him, and i just want to say thank you all for taking the time to make his day,

were off to drive to the yellow brick road hopefully i will beable to make it special, there is always a unique situation that comes up and with alans personality he always gets someones attention and off with the camera i go and lets see what happens, cuz with the cheesey its always a pleasant journey, :rotflmao:

always remember that life is a day at a time and there is no fast forward or rewind buttons, but sometimes with our past we could and can get stuck on the pause button, sticking us in this phase of what could have been or if i would have done, but you cant, its a waste of time, i am always thankful that i was brought up to enjoy work and i am grateful for a job, to make alans life better, and as i see it i do complain, but i do know that it doesnt take a birthday to celebrate ones existenance and if you honestly look at it, if you cant admitt to show your loved one everyday or do it monthly then you dont need the excuse well i did it once a year, :rotflmao:

so off to make it happen hope he has alot to tell you

    thank you for listening
    lauriejean,

p.s trippster, :daisy: i just wanted to thank you for all the fond memories that cheesey has and all that things you have done to make his life better. much laughter you have given us both. :towel:

Cheesey...you better take care of that angel who spends her earthly time posing as your wife!! What a sweetheart!

And from all of your packerforum friends, let me just say your humor and diplomacy always bring this place back to earth when things get testy, and, speaking for myself, your presence makes this forum a better place.

While we joke and take friendly jabs at one another, just wanted to let you know that in spite of the fact I have never met you, you are a friend.

Cheers, O' man of green and gold.

    LJ,

What a great post!!! I can see now why Cheesy speaks so highly of you. I met Cheesy on a Packers site and I am so glad that I did. He has made my unhappy days seem not so unhappy with his humor and his wisdom. I am so very proud to call him my friend. I hope I have made some of his not so good days better as well with our emails to each other. There is nothing like the Cheesy humor. :)

With all of that said, I hope the two of you have a wonderful day together, and your right LJ sometimes we forget how good we have it even though sometimes we feel we could have life alittle better. There are alot of worse off people in this world. If you have your loved ones beside you and your loved by someone special that is what counts. Its not tons of money, money dont buy happiness sometimes it just buys you misery.

I hope when we come back to WI in August I get to meet the other half of Cheesy.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY my friend!!!!

I'll tell ya...........I was about to tear up, for real, with all the wonderful comments towards me.
Then i saw Vikesrule's POLE DANCER and it ruined the moment!!! :rotflmao:
Anyway.........we are back from Green Bay. I had a FUN day there! My wife got me a display case for my autographed helmet, and some other goodies that i haven't seen yet. She made me sit out in the car while she shopped in the Packer pro shop. I always feel guilty when she spends money on me.
Today was my dogs birthday as well! (Not kidding, we have the same birthday. How weird is that?) He turned 7 today. It was hot out, so he was with us and I didn't want to leave him in the car alone. So we worked around our "baby".
LJ took a few photos of me outside Lambeau Field. I might get the film developed tomorrow. If I do, i'll try to post them.
THANK YOU ALL again for all the wonderful comments and love!
You helped to make my day more special!

I got to open my presents!
I got an Ahman Green replica jersey (I told my wife to get that one, it was of course on clearance and was too good of a deal to pass up!)
She got me a Packer key chain with my name on it, a little Packer keychain car that is a flashlight. A Labeau Field mini helmet, and the Lambeau Field 50 year anniversary patch. The 2005 team DVD. (I went to 3 games that year,2 that they won. So i wanted that). And gold Packer "G" earrings. (I had my ear pierced several years ago cause she bought me a sterling silver one. She always wanted to get me the GOLD one!)
My helmet looks SWEET in the new display case!
The weird thing is, I'm diabetic, I didn't eat much yesterday and NO birthday cake.......yet my blood sugar was 250 this morning. I don't know WHAT the heck is going on. It's been goofy the last few weeks, but never went that high before.
Oh well......guess my parts are starting to wear out! Guess my 50 year warrenty is up!
