Need ruling on NFL FG attempts

I remember seeing it done by a Kansas City Chief back in the 70's.

You can't run up to the line of scrimmage attempting to block it. You cannot use any player as a launching pad by jumping on/from them.

Really the only way to do it is traditional pressure up the middle.


Didn't Cole have one recently?


I do remember the Packers getting called for a penalty back in the 80s for "Running and Jumping" while trying to block a kick. I never quite understood the call since that was basically how I understood blocked kicks happened.

I BELIEVE (i could be wrong on this) that you can run and jump, but can't come in contact with your team mates. You can't use them to push yourself up higher. I think that was why they called a penalty.
