Last Friday evening, at our staff retirement party/dinner, my principal, who is a big Packer fan, gave me a gift....large box wrapped in green and gold paper. Upon opening it up and digging through layers of green and gold tissue paper, I found an autographed picture of Brett Favre holding his helmet up, running off the field, after a TD pass in Super Bowl XXXI. Then I turnd the picture over, and on the back was a card..........

"Bob, congratulations on your retirement. Looks like we go out together.
    Best wishes, Brett Favre #4"

My principal got the picture in December when he went to Lambeau with his son who had just graduated from college. When Favre announced his retirement he wrote him...not expecting a response...and this card came back three weeks ago. It's going in a safe place....under my pillow....for now. How cool is that?

Bob - That has got to be on of the coolest things I have heard of... now I am even more envious on two accords.. retiring and getting something as personal and cool as that.

:kicks desk again hoping the working years could evaporate and retirement was here at a young age:

Thats true LT.........only if some guy named "Bob" would buy it.
But who in their right mind would even THINK of selling something so special? If that was made out to me, the ONLY way I would get rid of it was when i was dead, and my ancestors would want to sell it.
(Then i would come back and HAUNT them!!!)

    Wow. Best short story ever.

Congrats on a 1 in a lifetime present! Just imagine, Brett Favre was thinking about YOU when he wrote that message.

Probably was. Unless he sat down and wrote out a few thousand pics after he retired. You know, like the keychains at the airport "Happy Retirement"... ANDY, BOB, CHARLES, DAVE :D

That is wonderful Bob. How fortunate you were to have a good friend like that.

When you frame it be sure to get the glass that keeps the UV rays out so that it doesn't fade. Just go and pick some up at the local museum.

Listen to wpr, take it to your local frame shop and tell them you want it framed and museum mounted. They will know exactly what you are talking about. As the former owner of a frame shop, the damage that will be done, if you don't make that investment, is inevitable.

On another note, that's the coolest frickin thing I've ever heard.
