...while the pandemic is still raging, I figured we could all put aside all of the draft talk for a second to ask a rather interesting question....in your lifetime as a Green Bay fan, which Packers loss would you say is your most painful, you know the one that still bothers you today if you find yourself thinking about it? The one loss that "sticks in your craw", if you will. I am guessing for most folks it would be the Super Bowl loss to Denver? I know that is the one that Ron Wolff always said stuck with him the most and still bothered him even after he left GB.

Brett Favres first game against us. I was getting married in Las Vegas at the time, and while my wife went off to look around the casino, she let me watch the game. I had three Vikings fans sitting behind me in the bar who quickly worked out I was a Packer fan. They dug at me all through the game, nothing nasty, just taking the ****. I HATED Favre, and he nearly ruined my honeymoon.....Nearly.

2014 NFC championship.
If we win that game I'm about as certain as I can be we get a SB that year.

wow surprised that there aren't any votes for the Super Bowl loss to Denver....because, well: a-it was the Super Bowl and b-it would have given the Pack back to back titles, which is pretty special. Are most of you guys too young to remember that game or something, or did that Super Bowl loss to Denver really not bother you nearly as much as the other losses which you have mentioned, even though those other losses (4th and 26 etc.) were obviously not Super Bowl losses.

2014 NFC Championship game. We gave Seattle that win. There was no excuse for them to beat us the way they did. On top of that we were robbed of seeing Rodgers vs Brady in the Superbowl. I remember after the game I sat on my couch just reflecting what just happened in complete darkness for about an hour.

Super Bowl against Denver.

My cousins, also my neighbors, are Bronco fans. That was a rough one.

I’ll rank the three most painful ones for me, speaking as someone who began following the team as a kid in the late 90s.

1. 2014 NFC Championship Game
2. 2007 NFC Championship Game
3. 2003 NFC Divisional Round

I wasn't born yet...
Does that counts as too young?

Another couple that really bother me that I am surprised not to see here are the 2011 divisional and 09 wild card

That damn Seattle game is #1 for me. Then:

2. Broncos Super Bowl
3. 4th and 26 Eagles

Those last two are surprisingly close. Honorable mention is the first playoff loss at Lambeau Field to Atlanta, and any playoff loss to the Cowboys.

The top 2 are my 2 as well. Seattle was a gut punch to say the least. We kicked their ***** all game long and found a way to lose. That was the worst for me.

Brocos super bowl loss sucked, but hey, TDavis had it going, we couldn't stop them. Was a good game, and the loss sucked, but i don't find a lot of shame in just being beaten. Yes, we lost to Seattle, but it wasn't even a game until they won really. Kind of embarrassing.

An overlooked one is the 2011 season. Rodgers was arguably at his apex, and just how Eli of all people just waltz up in Lambeau and light us up. I get the defense was hellacious for the Giants, but I'll never forget that hail mary Eli threw before the half that was caught by Hakeem Nicks. I was just left dumbfounded after that game ended. So glad we returned the favor in 2016.

Good point, both of those losses to the Giants at Lambeau were disgusting.

We just got our butts handed to us by the Giants in '11-'12. It sucked, but the game was never in doubt. I can move on from that a lot faster than a heartbreaker, or worse, a choke job.

The '14-15 NFC championship game was as bad as it gets. We were in the Super Bowl, and then somehow just like that we weren't.

Both of the Arizona playoff losses were really painful. To rally from a big deficit in the first one, and get a miracle Hail Mary and still lose the other, sucked.

As an aside, good heavens, have we EVER won a playoff game in OT?! I can think of a ton of OT playoff Packer games (Arizona twice, Seattle, Giants, Eagles), and I cannot think of a single one that we have pulled off.

Your right both those Arizona games really sting.

OT playoff win there are probably others but the last one I know of is the Hasselbeck "we want the ball we're going to score game" that Al Harris sealed for us.

You're absolutely right, I don't know how I missed that one. That was the week before another OT playoff game, 4th and 26.

the 2011 loss to the Giants

and then losing to the 49ers on divisional weekend two years in a row on last second field goals

and the brandon bostick debacle after that

and then losing in OT to arizona the year after that

so basically all the playoff losses from 2011-2015

The Packers have lost five playoff games in overtime since 2003. Seattle and New Orleans (both at two) are the only other teams with more than one during that time.

You did say what game in their lifetimes. ;)

All of the disappointments already mentioned were heartbreaking but I'm a little surprised no one yet has mentioned Fail Mary.

That was the game where our offense played their worst game of the season. :(
