Miller brewing and Coors are combining to make one big brewery. What do all of you think of this? They say they are doing it so they can compete with Budweiser.

Here in Canada it is made worse by the fact that Coors and Molson are already in bed together. It really doesn't effect me much as I honestly never buy any of the Canadian big two (Labatt & Molson) when an alternative is present.

How much variety do you guys down south have when it comes to buying beer? I must admit that we are rather spoiled here in Ontario. Although beer is not available in regular stores, we have a "Beer Store" which provides us with hundreds of different beers to choose from when we go on a beer run.

Not a big fan of the merger, but I hope you guys go and support the little guy mircobrews to allow them a market share and ensure variety.

Now Miller and Coors can combine their water from the Kinnikinnic River and Mountain water of Colo. It'll still make you pee alot, but now you may have that Colorado Golden Cutthroat color to it.

I' don't drink that stuff......only Moose Drool, Lewis and Clark Lager or Bayern Amber Lager.

Had not heard of that, I guess it will not affect me at all. I have been a pretty loyal Leinenkugel drinker and did not notice any change after the Miller merger.

My biggest concerns with something like this is, how long will it be before Miller pulls out of Milwaukee? I know they say they won't, but i don't believe it. Schlitz was big here, they are gone, Pabst was here, gone also.
So i see it as lots of lost jobs for our area. Maybe i will be wrong. At least i hope i am. Milwaukee was "Beer town".....not anymore.
Also..........now with a merger, there is less competition, and now if one of them goes under, they take the other with them. I know they are huge, but big companies have gone belly up before.

But no Leinie's, which sucks. At least they sell it in Western NY now, so I can head down and load up the car before football season.

Interesting merger since Miller Brewing company is a union shop and Coors is non-union.
Looks like Miller is going to try to bust the unions chops or getting the skids greased to skip town.

I don't like this since Miller High Life is my favorite treat.

Guess I'll switch to Pickaxe Blonde.

Actually I should start drinking Bud more often. If that was all I drank I would be much more responsible drinker as the fear of crapping my pants at work would outweigh the joy of a night of drinking that preceded it.

No crying in the beer. It reduces the alcohol level.

Grasshopper is slang for something similar to a student... it isn't a bad thing...

With time and experience... you will no longer be a "Grasshopper"..[IMG]

Thanks for clarifying that. Sorry G_B_P if you may have been offended by my comment. No intention, just trying to help you drink better beer is all. I wish someone would have tutored me at your age. I drank crap beer until I was well into my 20's.
