Kissing up to alumni, generating donations, etc. Whatever it takes to attract the recruits, modern weightlifting equipment, nice lockerroom, film rooms, etc. It all adds up.High school coaching success may be predicated more on a coaches teaching skills, ability to motivate and character development.  Mike Sherman no longer had position coaches and has to think about basics. High schoolers are much less dedicated and have a lot of other distractions and interests. Fear of getting cut is much less than if it's your livelihood.</blockquote>
