I use that term, but I don't really like it. It implies the guy has <strong>no chance</strong> to make the roster, which isn't the case...he's more of an insurance policy. Much depends on where Quarless stands. If he's not back to where to he was, and having lost Crabtree, we'll need a #3 blocking TE. After two years, D.J. Williams still has a tenuous grasp of left vs. right, i.e., he doesn't look like he knows what he's doing out there, and he's not a very good blocker. I'd give Mulligan about equal chance to make the roster as Williams regardless of Quarless' status.
