Some things to ponder Regarding Brett: I read a couple of stories from southern newspapers in the off-season where their sportswriters said Favre told Sherman the night of the Vikings playoff loss he was retiring. Sherman told him to think about it, and Favre still was leaning toward retiring as late as March. He decided to give it one more year, but the main reason he's thinking of hanging it is.....2006 roster and the drafting of Aaron Rodgers. He didn't want to leave the team in the lurch. Sherman gave him the offseason off to recover and recharge. Here's the free agents for next year...the guys with "one" in the column of YROC(years remaining on contract) or the guys with no digit in that column will likely be free agents next year. Among the notables..... Green, Mike Flanagan, Bubba, Longwell, Henderson, Wonderlic Walker, ******* Grady, Barry, Nall, Davenpoop, Kampman, O'Sullivan, Lenon, Ruegemer, Fisher, Rob Davis, Brad Bedell, Trulock, O'Dwyer, Curtin, James Lee, Chatman, Cullen Jenkins, Ben Steele, Vonta Leach and a long list of 'street' free agents. Here's the link: http://members.cox.net/cappage/2005cap.htm I see the entire starting backfield and backups, the starting center(article in paper said Packers won't re-sign Flanagan) a great kicker, etc. The Packers won't be able to hold onto them all. So a core group of the players are likely to be elsewhere next year. This is the last, best chance for a couple of years for the team to move into the playoffs. I think Brett knows this and I put my money on this is his last year.
