On Sept .29, 1957, the Packers player the first game in new City Stadium. The opponent were the Chicago Bears, which the Packers defeated the Bears 21-17 before a crowd of 32,132. Capacity of the new City Stadium was 32,150. There were 18 no shows. The cost of building the new stadium in 1957 was $960,000.

In 1965, new City Stadium was renamed Lambeau Field, in honor of the Packer's founder Earl" Curly "Lambeau (1919-1948). Curly Lambeau died on June 1, 1965 at the age of 65.

On Sept. 7 ,2003, the first game played at completely renovated Lambeau Field was between the Mn Vikings and the Packers, which was won by the Vikings 30-25.
The attendence at that game was 70,505.

The cost of complete renovation of Lambeau Field in 2003 was $295M.
