Okay so I rarely post but I do read a lot of this stuff....

I want to just hear peoples feelings on KGB, personally i dont care for him. I think he is undersized and causes more harm than good for our D-line. I dont know what his contract status is but i sure hope we dont keep him. I'd like to see us plant some monster at that endspot and get someone less mobile.

Tear me a new one if you disagree or have an opinion and would like to share.

I think his cap hit would be to much for the pack to bear right now. If he was used properly he would be an assest but against the run he is a huge liability

I like KGB but he is not an every down player. I want KGB around because he is possibly the best speed rushing DE in the game and we NEED THAT DESPERATELY. Unfortunately when it comes to the run he is a liability.

Weismann, do yourself a favor and go find a copy of the 2005 Viking/Packer game at Lambeau. Fast forward to the second half and watch a street free agent and Mt Mckinney make minced meat out of KGB. Report back tomorrow on your findings. If you care to, you can comment on the coaching involved in that particular contest as well.

Throughout KGB's career he has impressive stats, but what you will find if you study hard enough is that those sacks do not come at money time.

You will also find that KGB is a quality person who does hustle on the field, but has become the target of just about every offensive coordinator's game plan.

If he didn't play such a difficult position to replace, he would have been cut by now. He is not earning his contract.

if he has anything less than 13 sacks this year with harris and woodson at the corner spots(assuming woodson worh what they paid for him) considering they are running that bates defense that helped get jason taylor and adewale oguenleye all those sacks in miami when they had two of the better corners in the league
ideally u would want one every down end and use kampman on running downs and kgb on passing downs

You see it is people like you that kill me.

I mean you really kill me. Kill me dead, and before I die I shake my head at people like you.

Everyone here just look at the number of "READS" on a thread here in this forum, and then look at the number of responses.

There are so many great fans like Weissmann who spend 90% of their time reading, and 10% responding or posting.

In it's whole my friend you made a great thought provoking post. You should post more often.

I love food for thought, infact I eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

You should keep reading, but start posting more often.

I agree, as a pass rusher he's one of the better one's in the league. Against the run he is horrible. I rather see GB use him as a 3rd down pass rusher or only use him in passing situations. We should have money next year. Perhaps we'll bring someone in for that.

As for the contract KGB has. He's probably not worth it but without him we have Montgomery and Kenny Peterson. So we really do need him.

I'm going to defend this person. He has a right too choose to post. I'm sure he'd be more of a "team sport" and post if they're wasn't members on the site bashing you as a person and saying inappropriate things.

In other words, we have a lot of great posters but they're those who just need too chill out and talk some football with a mature attitude. I don't mean to offend anyone but I'm just saying it from a possible certain point of view.

Oh how I wish Bill Gates would figure out how "E Mails" and "Posts" could have tonality and enunciation.

If there was tonality and enunciation in my post, you would know I was congratulating him for great insight, end encouraging him to post again.

There is no need to defend him from my post.

KGB needs to be rotated to keep the wheels fresh all game long. You can literally see him lose steam as the game progresses as a full-time starter.

I agree completely, but the problem is there is no adequate depth behind him. Peterson hasn't really proven anything, and is a step to slow, although has mad strength. Montgomery isn't anything to brag home about, it has been reported that he lost weight in order to get quickk, and that still hasn't happened. That is something I just don't get, we get some really nice DT's to have a rotation, but we desperately need a rotation with the DEs, yet nothing. :-?

Guys try to explain this reduction in playing time to those that are participating with him in the rotation that are making 1/8 the money.

AADP, with all do respect, the problem here is not depth behind him, rather, the contract paid out to a pass rush specialist dictates that his *** is in there for all three downs.

AADP is right. It's not about KGB's contract. When these other guys can get to the QB as much as KGB does then they can complain about thier contracts. KGB is the only guy on the team that gets to the QB. Hard to pull a guy off the field when the guys behind him can't stop the run either and they don't even get to the QB.

Pyle, I don't know what you watch out there, but when KGB plays against a quality LT, he gets stoned. I guess we can play him against teams with shaky offensive lines. Wait a minute, I bet he is kicking but this year in training camp.

Has he developed a bull rush yet?

Yeah, stats don't lie so goodbye! Inside joke NPF

Actually stats deceive. How many of those were against the Lions and Bears and how many against the Vikings?

The Vikings usually have a good oline, the Bears and Lions, not so much!

Thanks for the links!

Hmmmm......I was unaware that I said KGB isn't a liability against the run.

The problem is what is our other option?

Are you kidding? You want Montgomery in there all the time instead of KGB? KGB had twice the amount of tackles and is our ONLY pass rush.

If it means unloading that Assinine contract, you bet your ***. Can you sit there with a straight face and tell all of us that KGB earns his paycheck?

Who would we spend the money on who is of equal or greater talent? Are we hurting for money?

I know your frustration, you expect more production from a guy making that amount and I agree. But you don't simply rid yourself of a guy who yes at times produces because he isn't earning every dollar of his paycheck.
