Great post. Im a fan. I dont want to be concerned with how fat Al Harris's wallet gets. I wanna see him play well, bottom line. How many phat cars and phat houses he buys is of no concern to me. Its one of the main reasons why im starting to hate pro sports, especially baseball. No loyalty whatsoever to the team, the fans, the town, or the team tradition. For an extra 5 percent raise, most of these guys will jump ship and leave the team hanging. All my teams did this. Shaq left orlando in the early 90's. Marlins championship teams were disasembled right after winning both world series. Im starting to not really like pro athletes all that much. Its one of the reasons that Favre, Reggie White and Cal Ripken were my favorite players in their respective sports. They were loyal to their teams. Everything wasnt all about padding their bankroll. Do you see Favre after he negotiates a new contract. He comes to the press conference in workout shorts and a dirty tee shirt and its not a big deal. "Hey, we got it done" Each time he was the face of the league and he could have gotten much more but guys like that arent overly greedy and they honor their contract. Three straight MVP's for Favre and he could have held the team ransom for obscene amounts but it didnt go down like that. Reggie White was the best defensive player in the league. Did they threaten to hold out?? Nope. Al Harris & Javon & McKenzie have a good year or 2 and they want to break the bank. Im tired of hearing about T.O. and Ocho Cinco(Chad Johnson) type attitudes. Bunch of overpaid a**holes who dont care about the fans at all, have no loyalty to their teammates and if not for football probably couldnt hold a job at burger king. Im starting to really hate all pro sports. And once Favre retires, im going to lose alot of interest in football. I'll still watch, but i wont care as much.
