Teams conduct OTA's for a reason, look around the league, most players are showing up and participating. A handful don't, most due to contract issues, which seemed to be the case last season for Rodgers and somewhat expected. This season? He has a fresh new contract and commitment from the Packers, a $40,800,000 signing bonus, $150,815,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $50,271,667, yet there he is...off playing golf, while his teammates work.
I have read a lot about Rodgers over the years, but its a little hard for him to offer up help, when he isn't even in the building. We could go back and forth on this forever, the bottom line for me, he isn't in the building to offer up that help you talk about or make himself available to connect with the new receivers. For the second straight year Rodgers has decided to skip OTA's. For a guy who had been attending them every year, what changed? Only thing that I can think of is his attitude. Speaking of reading, you might want to read more about the reasons that Shanahan changed things up. "Shanahan said all but one member of the 49ers’ roster showed up, rendering the need for additional practices moot." Also, the 49'ers conducted their normal OTA's this year, so these injuries they sustained last season don't appear to be concern enough for all the players to be skipping OTA's. https://ninerswire.usatoday.com/2021/06/09/49ers-cancel-final-otas-minicamp-injuries/ Do you honestly believe Rodgers not showing up for OTA's had anything to do with them making the playoffs? There are so many factors that go into a season, so either argument is silly to try and make. Tom Brady doesn't show up for OTA's, the Bucaneers win a SB.....oh we are on to something here!
