It made a lot of sense to me anyway.From a coaching/GM perspective you normally get about 3 seasons to make a team turn around. A step back, improvement season and then a substantial improvement that 3rd year. Then owners (and fans) get impatient if that doesn’t happen? That’s where jobs (or even careers) will be on the line for these coaches and FO personnel. Overspending slightly on draft picks etc.. to make that “leap” buys a couple seasons. If they wait and try to save capital? It will be some other GM or Coach spending that capital, because they’ll be unemployed or demoted. He didn’t get into specifics, but he said #13 overall and a couple other draft picks is a reasonable starting point. He did say that Jets GM will overspend before he underspends and misses out.  They won’t let a 2nd or 3rd rounder get in the way as they are swinging for the fences so to speak.</blockquote>
