I did some research on the religion known as Scientology and was shocked to see what I found. Basically a cult that will not hesitate to take all of your money and kill if need be.
I used to joke around about how stupid this made up religion was and how stupid the actors like Tom Cruise were to be involved in it. It's a lot worse and a lot scarier than I ever thought. I don't mean to freak or offend anybody with this (I'm agnostic after all) but I felt like sharing this with you all since I did all this research for a college paper. Check it out if you want to see what I mean:

    L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology once said, " If you want to become a millionare, the quickest way is to invent your own religion."

I did a ton of research for my religious studies university class, and it was way too wierd.

And some of their stories are just WAY out there, such as a forcefield protecting an alien that came to this planet in a plane, and the forcefield is in a volcano somewhere, and the alien is named Xanu... :-?

It was just like ... damn this is some crazy stuff these people believe.

Actually it was fellow writer Harlan Ellison who suggested Hubbard should invent his own religion, if monetary gain was the aim. According to the account, L. Ron was despondent over his failed attempts at commercial writing and tired of being broke.

I'd like to announce my new religion, Packerology...I will explain it in full detail on this forum for a very low cost fee of $55 per month from each member. You'll feel much better in your life giving me this money so my dog can have a 1200 square foot heated dog house all to himself and I might just buy a little bit bigger house for myself and add a few fancy cars along the way.

Arrow, I thought you would lock the thread.

Some one will be offended and keep posting until they offend everyone into not responding.

I don't see how this is offensive. The only people I can see it possibly offending would be scientologists. I'm guessing Tom Cruise and Kirstie Alley aren't Packer fans.
