on Oct. 27th, 2005 i lost the most wonderful father anyone could ask for. he fought his battle with stage 4 esophageal cancer for 2 years without complaint & continued to live his life to the fullest. he was told by his oncologist on Oct. 14th that there were no further treatments available to him so what did he do? loaded up the motorhome & went camping one final time. then he finished harvesting his crops on Oct. 17th, took a trip with the family along the Illinois River to see the fall leaves on Oct. 22nd, & the Lord called him home on Oct. 27th.

he's the one who introduced me to the Packers, told me about their history, took me to the hall of fame, the stadium tour, & to several memorable Packers games. he was one of a kind, everybody's friend, a real sweetheart & i miss him every day.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints of snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

Lovingly remembered and deeply missed by,

I can't wait to sit at "heaven's Packer bar" and watch the packer games. You know that is one crowded place.

I hear there is a "heaven's bear bar" too. But it hasn't opened yet!

May your father rest in peace, and I think that it is very clear that your father was a wonderful, and a loving man considering that you can express your love and fondness of him after his passing in a positive light like you have.

    When Tomorrow Starts Without Me
    ( David Romano )

    When tomorrow starts without me
and I'm not here to see...
If the sun should rise and find your
eyes filled with tears for me,

I wish so much you wouldn't cry
    the way you did today...
While thinking of the many things
    we didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
as much as I love you...
And each time you think of me,
I know you'll miss me, too.

But when tomorrow starts without me,
    please try to understand...
That Jesus came and called my name
and took me by the hand,

And said my place was ready
    in heaven far above...
And that I'd have to leave behind
    all those I dearly love.

So when tomorrow starts without me,
    don't think we're far apart...
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here in your heart.

I thought I would find a beautiful poem for you, this one I thought was touching...

Your Dad was a great man Illy.........and he did great in raising you! You both were/are very fortunate! (Blessed!)
I feel honored that i got to meet him!
When you get sad, think of all the wonderful times you had together. Many people have their Fathers alot longer, and never once get to have the closeness you had with him.
My thoughts/prayers go out to you my dear friend!

If when it's my time to move on and I am remembered as you are, I will have done very well and be happy. Enjoy being the gentle autumn rain, the diamond glints of snow and the wonderful memories of your family and friends for they shall all see you again.

What a day to celebrate, the day your father was able to enter the kingdom of heaven. I'm sure he's proud of the family he made, and that they still think of him.
