Who would be the Pack's starting D line-up?

D-Line:

KGB, Jenkins,____, Kampman

Would Grady be healthy enough?
How about the health of the young bucks? Washington, Lee, Williams

Will Truluck be cut?

LBs:

Barnett, Navies, Diggs?

How is Thompson's injury?

Secondary:

CBs- Harris, Thomas/Carroll, nickle:____, dime_____

Safeties: ?

Freeman seems to have a spot but his lack of playing time over 5 years is bothersome.

Could Roman be cut?

I hope Bates really is a genius.

from what I've read, Thomas has the edge over Carrol.

I'm not sure about that D-line. I've read that Williams is moving up, and I thought that they were trying to move Jenkins outside, but maybe I'm wrong. Either way, I guess KGB, Kampman, Jackson (assuming healthy), Williams and Jenkins are the top d-linemen at the moment.

From last year - we saw Kampman wherever the dang ball was..
He's quickly becoming one of my fav ball hawks competing with No.56.

I wonder what it'd be like to have him opposite KGB? Opinions!

KGB, Kamp, Grady and Washington, with Cullen Jenkins and Corey Williams geting some significant PT.

Out of that group, who will significantly improve the pass rush???

Who knows? Could be any of them really. I think Jenkins' motor will allow him to make a presence on the pass rush if he's given the chance. It's not anybody really saw KGB as a legit pass-rusher until he was on the field proving it. It's all speculation but I think the younger, hungier players will improve the pass rush. ("Significantly" is the key word used by Steel Wheels, and I know I don't have the answer yet).

I noticed everyone seems to be avoiding addressing the secondary and LB.

While I think Barnett, Navies, Diggs will do an adequate job, there is no depth behing them, possibly Thompson.

In fact, Even if Bates turns around the D starters, where is the balanced depth throughout the line-up? The D is one or two injuries away from being in major trouble.

Believe me, I don't want to be a chicken little. If someone could help change my outlook I would appreciate it.

Based on the lack of D depth I have to believe that at least one or two B level defensive FAs will be signed before August.

Anyone is better than Hunt, so Washington for sure, but Jenkins and Williams will play on 3rd down and have great motors and seem to get to the QB so all three will do it.

KGB, Grady, Thompson, Kampman -line

Thompson, Barnett, Diggs--lb

Carroll, Little, Freeman, Harris

Carroll might get beat out, but it will be close. You can't discount the year of getting toasted will do for him. Bates will make a difference with this guy.

Jenkins will be used more outside since Bates likes hippos in the middle.
