This is not a if'a would'a could'a post.

Please give this thought a chance, and think about this. I am interested in your serious feedback on this.

I was right there on the Packer Forum Game Day Chat Mode during the Giants/Dallas game. I was cheering on the Giants in the game against Dallas. I was praying for a Home Game In Green Bay against the Giants.

Now, after careful thought. I think I was cheering for the wrong team.

I am pretty sure if the Packers went to Dallas they would have beat the Cowboys, and be heading to Arizona this week.

Brett was due to win in Dallas. The Cowboys were not in sync that weekend. And the Packers had played there already once this year and lost. M.M. is a good coach. He would have had game film to work with, and adjust without the weather making those adjustments less probable. Plus it is hard to beat a team twice in a row.

Now that I think back.... I wish we went to Dallas. That may have meant we went to Arizona.

Your thoughts?

Couple of bulleted comments on the thoughts... not negatives just opinions.

A) With the way Harris was abused in Dallas earlier this season and that Plax did to Harris on a slow field, I think we were in trouble either team. Watched part of the replay of the Giants game then qued the Cowboys game... as far as Harris goes.. it was the same game. A big strong reciever that could hand fight with Harris won the battles..

B) Albeit our passing game may have been better, unless the line was really affected with the bitter cold, I don't know if it would have mattered much. All year we struggled with speed up the middle, both the Giants and Cowboys exploited that. However would have the running game been different? Possibly.

C) The short passing game would have been better, faster field and warm.

D) Don't know that I ever would have tought it, but I think I would have rather faced Romo than a hot Eli on the road.

E) Whitten would have had a big factor in a game in Dallas, where we really didn't have much of a threat in the Giants game via TE.

F) If we came out with the same intensity in Dallas as we did at home, we are sitting home anyway.

G) But could we have been flat and let down because we didn't have to play the Cowboys and we thought we had the game in hand before it started? Only the players on the field know that answer to that.

But I will say this, if we play the Giants 10 times, I think we win better than 50 % of the time.. Last Sunday just wasn't one of them.. they handed it to us and earned it. Time to move on, IMO.

OK......i don't know what that is.

Anyway.......i think all of us wonder that now. Maybe things would have been different......no one knows for sure. But we should NOT have lost a game that important at home.

It's easy to say after the fact, but yes, we might have had a better chance at Dallas. I thought the Giants played great in Dallas and really earned that win. I just didn't think they could play at that level two weeks in a row. But they did.

I know that home teams are about .500 in conference championship games over the past 10-15 years, so I didn't expect that to be a big factor. I just thought the Packers were clearly the better team than the Giants, while they would've been on equal footing with the Cowboys. I greatly underestimated the Giants. They are peaking at the right time. That's why I think they have a legitimate shot at beating the Patriots next week.

I too danced in the living room when Dallas lost. I told my wife "we pretty much are going to the Super Bowl". <insert foot in mouth>

I think Dallas would have owned us. We lost to the Giants in a close game, but the Cowboys would have won by a lot more...especially on their field where Brett is yet to win one.

Owens was hurt, so he wouldn't have been as much as a factor....

So yeah...I wish they would have played in Dallas...

(PS...I told you not to underestimate the Giants. Damn!)

IMO What was meant to be happened and I am sad that it did happen the way it did, because I truly thought and still think we were the better team to win against the Giants, our players didnt play well that was the bottom line.

It wasnt in the cards for us this year, even though we did have a great season we didnt finish it off to well.

I also had a bad feeling about playing the Giants at our home field when it was so cold, all I could think about before this game is how we lost to the Bears in the frigid cold and wind.

The only thing left to do is look forward to next season when we kick some b---@@

game are won and lost based on how the player play. Whether we like Harris' play or not, he wasn't good enough to beat Burress. If you go back in history and look at Harris you'll find that when he gets all caught up in these mind games he gets burned. We lost because Harris couldn't cover Burress and his defensive coordinator didn't make any adjustments. We lost because or QB was cold and didn't go through his reads and just wasn't as dead on as he had been through most of the season. When Brett doesn't play well, we're not a great team. We need him at the top of his game, and there is no doubt he wasn't at the top of his game.

Our running game was inconsistent all year long because our line play was inconsistent all year long. The guards got it handed to them in that Giants game, and Brett was good enough on that Sunday to do what we have to do to win and that is to pass to open the run.

Where we play just doesn't matter. How we play does.

No disrespect R.P. but it's awful easy to wish we could have played Dallas AFTER the Giants beat us at home. If the Packers play even close to the level that they had against Seattle one week earlier, they would have been going to Arizona to represent the NFC. On the other hand, if the Packers play uninspired-looking football in Dallas the way it appeared they did against NY, the Cowboys are going up against the Pats. I know it sounds too simple, but in this case, I really think that it is.

I wonder if MM would have taken that same gameplan that stunk in the Dallas game and he again trotted out for the NFC Championship game against the Giants back to Dallas had we been playing the Cowboys?
If he did we would have lost in Dallas as well.

This is going to sound horrible. But our offense is designed to play in good conditions.

I can't believe I'm typing this but maybe the Packers and Vikings should switch fields.

The Packs high powered passing attack would be unstoppable on turf.

The Vikes run game would be great in the snow.

Whew... can't believe I'm typing this. Don't hate me...

I was saying to a guy yesterday that i wish they would have made it possible for the Packers to play at Miller Park. They could have played the NFC championship there, and closed the roof.

I chalk this one up to experience. Every Packer game i am reminder by the annoucers that we are the youngest team in the NFL. Next year, we have no excuse.

As far as Dallas, I think going into the playoffs, we were the better team. I still feel we are a better team than the Giants. But they just showed us that we didnt deserve to go and they did.

Funny thing is, I agree with you.

Coughlin was on fire against us. Cows were on the way down. We probably would have beaten the Cows by double digits.

Agreed big time!

If you played the Crygirls a 2nd time you would've won and I would have been rooting for the PACK. It would've been great to see you beat them in that dump of a stadium, w/the hole in the roof.........and God watching.

Heck........I cant stand them and I dont like NE either.

I totally agree. I think we would have destroyed them.

I'm Giants neutral, but I hate the Pats.
I hope you guys beat them by double digits. I'd love to see them embarrassed.

I cant imagine that we'll beat them by double digits. We played our guts out, had them 28-16 and still lost to them. The only way I can see a NYG win is if Brady plays lke he did against the Bolts............Other than that I fear the worst...........I'm gonna wear my cheesehead for extra luck...if it's ok w/you guys.
