I don't think so, I think they'll keep Abreu at Right, Matsui at Left, and Damon at CF. Sheff's age is getting up there, he will retire real soon. Not to mention our line-up will go something like this:

    1. Damon
    2. Jeter
    3. Giambi
    4. A-Rod
    5. Matsui
    6. Abreu
    7. Cano
    8. Posada
    9. Phillips/Cabrera (DH)/1B

    That is solid. :D

Most of all though, we get some stability in our staff.

Moose, Johnson, Wang, Chacon (God I hope he gets his magic back)/Lidle/Pavano (If he ever gets healthy.... a big IF :x) to fill out the final two spots. Wright moves to the pen, so maybe that will help things along, and so will Dotel coming back in time for the playoffs.

AADP....Abreau is sh1t. No glove....no arm....no heart. He should do well in the American league. I'm a huge Phillie fan and he is Mr. Non clutch. I love the trade for the Phillies. They got a couple young prospects.....probably the only prospects the Yankees had left.

As for Lidle......what a piece of crap. If he is part of your atarting rotation the Yanks are in trouble.

While normally I would agree, the fact is the Yanks are just that desperate. Guile/Williams/Long were not cutting it, we needed a player who could at least fill half the shoes of Sheff. Abreu should do that, meaning he should provide hits, and bat .280, which is better than the rest of our RFs this year.

As for Lidle, YES the Yankees are that bad, IMO. Lidle can't be worse than Wright, who has, according to Torre "no stamina". As the number 5 starter, he can't be worse than Wright. To add to that, he does have experience, since he is a veteran. Pavano would have rounded out the rotation greatly, just that he can't seem to stay healthy, or he just wants out of NY that bad.

Overall, advantage Phillies, but for the short term, these players should help the Yanks compete better with the Red Sox down the strech. The Yanks were in some MAJOR need of a MLB talent at the RF spot, and they got it with Abreu. Personally, I think his performance at the Home Run Derby last year greatly increased his value, but if he helps the Yanks get into the playoffs this year, I won't complain.

Mench is a stud. He's a little younger than me but attended the same high school and college (U of Del) that I went to. This isn't going to say a whole lot but he is worshipped here in Delaware. Not exactly the "hotbead of major league prospects".

Here is a little trivia for you. Kevin Mench has the biggest head of anyone in Major League baseball, based on his hat size. It is over an 8.
