How did Capers go from brilliant to dim-witted in such a short span?
2010 Dom Capers was revered as a master defensive mind and the product of **** Lebeau's handed down knowledge. The Packers defense was average in 2010 except for when the playoffs started, and amassed plenty of turnovers against elite teams. Can someone for the love of God explain to me HOW that changes after one year? I understand momentum, but how does momentum generate and similarly take away what appears to be real skill? Tramon Williams and Sam Shields were pretty amazing during that playoff stretch in 2010, and now they look like dummies? It's not like there has been giant personnel changes since 2010. 2010=Dom Capers is a genius. 2011=Dom Capers better be worried. 1st game of 2012=Dom Capers is on the chopping block. Also is anyone else tired of feeling like the game was way more of a blow out than the score represented? In the playoff game the refs gave the Packers an opportunity with the blown (clearly blown) fumble call. Now in this game there is a clear block in the back that was for reasons I will not understand picked up, which gave us a chance. Makes me feel like the Packers are quite weaker than their offensive stats suggest. Looking back on this game I honestly feel 7 points was all we really earned, and even that is a stretch.
